Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were taking our friend for a birthday meal, when we arrived we were told the menu was reduced as they had run out of food. The quality of the meal was very poor.

We had a lovely lunch at the Pheasant Plucker, choosing from a menu that was inventive but not overwhelming. All the food is locally sourced, beautifully presented and well cooked. Services attentive without being too overbearing and we were meant to feel welcome from beginning...to end. Would certainly recommend and will return.More

Superb food, location and Sarah who looked after us was an absolute joy to talk through the menu with. Will be back. If only for the pizza as stuck to the Sunday lunch menu this time round. They looked great.

A quite lovely setting. Intimate garden cabins are lovely for special occasions. It's a little pricey so would not be a regular visit.

Great pub to go to either before or after a walk in the local woods. Good food choice. Seating either indoors or out on the patio. Staff are very pleasant.

I held my mother’s eightieth birthday party for twenty one guests in the beautiful upstairs function room at The Pheasant Plucker. The evening was wonderful from start to finish and the food and service were exceptional. There was a selection of set menus to choose...from at the time of booking. I chose a menu, but later discovered that my mother wasn’t keen on any of the vegetarian options on that menu. I discussed this with the restaurant and they were so helpful, and told me that my mother could choose any of the plentiful vegetarian options from the main menu and they would add this to the set menu. My mother decided that she didn’t like any of those options either. The restaurant was fantastic, the chef created two additional dishes based on my mother’s favourite foods and added them to our set menu for her! You really can’t get better service than that! On the evening the room was beautiful, the service was exceptional, our waiter, Nick, was so very attentive. The food was first class, the drinks were wonderful (the cocktails are amazing, and my mother loved her mocktail). Everyone said that the venue was wonderful. Everyone had a great time.More

I took my family and 85-year-old mother for her birthday lunch to The Pheasant Plucker. We had a wonderful time. Our server Sarah took really good care of us, and the food was excellent. Highly recommended, we will definitely return.

Have been wanting to visit for a while as have drove past many times. Food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Ordered the sea bass and hubby had veggie red Thai curry and then apple and rhubarb crumble with salty caramel and rhubarb ice cream....Fab service and really good value. Also nice to have the option of being able to pay by cash We’ll definitely be back!!!! Keep up the good work gals and guys :-)More

Great pub good food. Go there often. Usually 5 stars only 3 this time due to the fact the menu gets odder and odder with strange combinations please go back to the usual food combinations.

What a beautiful pub, very quirky inside with a lovely outdoor space ideal for families with children. The food was ok, I had a burger but wished I had a pizza as these looked amazing. The service didn’t really warrant the 12.5 % added to...the bill, although the other tables had more attentive waiting staff than we did!More

Amazing food, super family friendly, lovely garden and play area, lots of vegan options, a proper pizza oven, a salad garnish that you can actually eat 😁 and very nice surroundings. Our new favourite place.
