My sweetie and I were overnighting for 2-night get-away weekend and we didn't feel like splashing out for fancy dining. I found Sam's via TripAdvisor and it was as billed - was just the ticket for a quiet, straightforward dinner of no-nonsense Italian food. We dropped in (no reservations taken and is only open evenings) on a Friday evening and... More

Old Italian restaurant with indifferent service and mediocre food. Our server was totally impersonal. The pizza was on par with Domino's. Seek better alternatives.

Old Italian restaurant best for your choice of thin crust pizza. Prefer the large with sausage, mushrooms & artichokes. Worth the wait but no reservations. You can call ahead for take out. Nice side salads & deserts.

The great thing about Sams is the smell of tomato, basil and baked cheese that hits you as you walk through the door. They have a simple setting, but one that has been unchanged since their inception in the 1940s and somehow knowing you are experiencing a longstanding independent restaurant makes the experience all the more worthwhile. You'll find a... More

If you want a good, satisfying meal in the Hamptons, Sam's is the answer. Good pizza, pasta. The seafood dishes utilize local seafood and are really good, especially for the money. Gets very crowded in the summer, but you can also order takeout.

Ate here twice during a recent trip to East Hampton and absolutely loved it. Buzzy atmosphere with great service and the food was delicious. Fab pizza and pasta dishes and an amazing house salad which we loved. Good wine selection too. No reservations needed. Go there!

We asked for our server at the Clam Bar at Napeague (another great Hampton's institution, don't miss it!) where we might find a great local haunt. Sam's was her response and so glad we went. They've been in town since 1947 and no small surprise there are pictures of many celebrities that have dined there over the years. The baked... More

I expect to pay more for food in East Hampton, even mediocre food, but I also expect service to be better than average, not worse. While my family waited too long for a table, my wife and I sat at the bar. It took the bartender over 5 minutes to take our drink order, but there were only maybe four... More

Sam's is known for its pizza, and rightfully so. Its pizzas are delicious! They have a wide range of toppings too, one of my favorites is prosciutto. Their pasta dishes are really good too. The dishes feel homey and comfortable. The seating is done in booths and they have a bar that does well too. It's great for couples or... More

We shared mussels, garlic bread, and a Caesar salad and really didn't like them. The server never checked in on food and the busser was so on point that our plates were gone before she came back. She also forgot our drinks. I told a friend about our first time there and she said that food is terrible, but the... More
