Stopped in for quick lunch. French onion soup is the best I ever had. BBQ wings were great. Really cool place with great food and service. Don't let the exterior scare you away. It's a hidden gem.

One of my favorite restaurants in the Buffalo area. Beef on weck is my favorite. The fish fry and soups are also very good. I love this place.

My husband and I were going out with friends who live on the Island and they had heard good reviews about this restaurant. We arrived on a Friday evening close to 8:30 pm. The restaurant is in an old house. We walked in the front door and it was standing room only. The bar is to the right and patrons... More

We go here about once every couple of months. They have the best soup I ever tasted. Lemon tabasco clam chowder. It's amazing. Great flavor, not too spicy. Just right. The French Onion soup is excellent as well.

On vacation with the family and chose this place because if their great reviews. Didn't have a reservation but were told they could get a table ready right then. 10 minutes later we were seated. It took another 10 minutes for a gentleman to come take our drink order and then 10 minutes to get the drinks. Ok, it was... More

Dear unhappy customer, I apologize for your experience. But after reading your review I must say that it was Labor Day weekend that you visited us. I was there and remember the incident very well. You were on a wait list and you had two very small children. As you state you were in a car for six hours before... More

It was a really nice place which was intimate and reasonably priced. The food was excellent, waiters and waitresses were really friendly, very professional, and they were right on top of the service as well as clearing tables. They move dinners through quickly without rushing anyone. I would definitely recommend the buffalo chicken bread, as well as the seafood croissant.... More

I had the soup and salad combo. I t should have been called "Soup and Lettuce"....so disappointing. Come on guys - this is the height of summer - so much quality produce is available and to serve lettuce with two croutons and two grape tomatoes plied on a little 6 inch diameter plate and call that a salad! It was... More

We are very sorry for you were dissatisfied with your soup/ salad lunch combo. That is specifically put on our menu as a quick, reasonably priced lunch item. It is a chef salad. Chef salads consist of 2 tomatoes, 2 cucumbers, and croutons over greens. We use romaine, baby spinach and iceberg when making our salad mix. We do however... More

Description
The Village Inn is located in the historic Ferry Village in Grand Island, New York. Its quaint, homelike atmosphere and close proximity to the Niagara River make this restaurant a popular meeting place for locals, as well as for those visiting off island. In 1988, owner Michael Carr took over The Village Inn that was previously named Lippens Grill. He changed the name to The Village Inn, which was inspired by his father. With the help of his friends and family, he renovated this 1890's building to make it the cozy eatery that it is today. At The Village Inn, we pride ourselves on creating all of our food from scratch. We are best known for our unique, culinarily adventurous soups as well as baking all of our desserts in house from homemade recipes. From our moist and sweet bread puddings to our spicy lemon tabasco clam chowder, we strive to please all taste buds. The Village Inn has customers from all over the area that come in to experience this one of a kind restaurant. You are sure to enjoy your meal served by our light-hearted, welcoming wait staff while engaging in our distinctive dining atmosphere. All of us at The Village Inn are looking forward to your dining with us while experiencing our historic niche in Ferry Village.
