Really good food and wine but there is little atmosphere and by Gambian standards its rather expensive.

Thank you John for taking the time to write your views. The majority of our meats (USA & France) and wines (Alsace, Riojas from Spain and Portugese wines) are exclusive to us and do come with a heavy importation tax. We would love to see you back again. More

I had drinks with a friend on a quiet February afternoon. the place is really nice, even though it was quite windy the staff helped us choose a nice seat on a terrace where we could enjoy the view, be guarded from the wind and quietly sip our drinks, which were delicious. The staff is very welcoming and flexible, they... More

Food was superb. Shame we had to wait 50 minutes for it 'because we didn't order a starter' but it was one of the best meals we've eaten and in a beautiful setting.

Smart restaurant for The Gambia, obviously popular with the better off locals and politicians. Food very good, local and imported touches of fusion cuisine with middleastern touch. Very tasty, slightly pricier that others but safe food and good value for the level of hotel. Staff professional and friendly, musicnot intrusive.

This was an absolute treat to eat here. Food was so fresh and delicious. I think this was the most expensive meal we had on our holiday priced at £56 for 2 mains, 1 dessert and a delicious bottle of wine..well worth it! The staff were very professional and polite.

Oh, I'm thinking as we walked by the gardens, what a beautiful place, maybe this time I can have a good meal in Gambia! (except at my house, and that may be part of all my negative reviews here, at home we create delicious fushion meals with local ingredients). I was very tempted with a soupe, a shrimp bisque. And... No doubt about it this is the best all round dining experience in The Gambia, staff attentive and well mannered and as always the food was of the highest standard. A very well put together menu to cater for all tastes, must visit at least once during any stay wherever you are.

Had breakfast, lunch and dinner here most days of our weeks stay in this lovely lodge. The whole dining experience was first class, thank you. We especially loved the fresh tuna and prawn salads - over looking the gardens, from the restaurant, out to sea. We also very much enjoyed the New Years Eve six course dinner.

Wow the restaurant has the most amazing high up sea views. I would say a fantastic romantic setting not to be missed. Must book to get a guaranteed table. I would say go at the back end of your holiday otherwise you will be hooked! As it's fine dinning prices are much more expensive and the ambience is magnificent. I... More

This was our first tome at Ngala Hotel. The restaurant - dinner, breakfast and lunch - were quite simply excellent. The dining room is beautifully situated with lovely views over the gardens and the Atlantic. The menus in the evening were interestingly designed with a good variety of options (impressive given the challenges of sourcing ingredients sometimes) and each dish... More
