I had to pay a visit to the DMV (dep't of motor vehicles) during my lunch hour, which is conveniently located across the street from DMZ (the bar/restaurant). So we ordered first. The place is very small, really mostly a bar, with a handful of...More

Yikes! I'm so sorry for the mix-up on your order. My 16 year-old son has been working with me 2 days a week. He's still getting used to the pace. I believe it's important for him to learn to be a good employee by working...More

I grew up in Kingston. Moved away probably 30+ years ago. My folks still live there so I visit frequently. This weird thing has recently happened, Kingston is getting cool! If you are reading this you probably know that or are about to find out....More

loved Loved LOVED! We were visiting uptown Kingston from the Albany area for the first time, and were faced with numerous choices of funky local eateries. DMZ is located one short block over from the main drag (Wall Street) right across from the Courthouse and...More

Pretty small, but a good spot right across from the county courthouse--parking is tough except on weekends when you don't have to feed the parking meters. Friendly and helpful staff, eclectic menu, everything well prepared.

We were only in Kingston for a night. We wandered into DMZ at the change of shift, so to speak- getting ready for dinner service. The owner graciously fed us, and we had nice cocktails as well. She gave us the lowdown of where to...More

I ordered the pad thai and it was inedible: gummy noodles stuck together w/ bits of overcooked egg and burned tofu, covered with Siracha. The cook didn't even bother to ask if I wanted my noodles drenched in hot sauce. My husband said his Banh...More

We happened upon this fine locale after fighting traffic out of Manhattan on our way to Montreal a few weeks ago. We were pleased to find a lovely spot with a great and interesting menu fused with all things cool that are Asian. If you...More

Kind of a hole in the wall, bar service and a few tables. The food is super-interesting and the chef is willing to change/explain/suggest things (maybe moreso than your waitron). Unusual ingredients make it a long process to get through the menu, but it's exciting...More

It's Uptown Kingston, not Woodstock, yet with more to the local counterculture than you're already certain you know: the lunch counter culture, that is. But before you relegate chef Deena Rae Turner's instantly appealing Cafe East --- with its highly original, admirably eclectic "fusion" menu...More

Beautifully decorated small intimate space with excellent lighting and music. Full bar, tapas, grass fed burgers, larger fare. All meats and vegetables are freshly prepared from natural ingredients, local whenever possible. High attention to the perfect blending of flavors. Craft cocktails made with the utmost care using interesting liquor brands.
