What can I say? I have been back to this gem for over 15 yrs Jean jacque has created the finest French restaurant outside of NYC and been consistent for all these years. If you long for great food..romantic atmosphere and a taste of what Paris must have been like in the 40's and 50's come here. As a former... More

Fifteen years ago, my wife and I went to dinner here with her parents. From the minute we walked in until the minute we left, we did not feel welcome. The waiter was rude and I vowed never to return. Fast forward to 2016. My 13 year old daughter loves Alton Brown from the Food Network and read a review... More

We had a great dinner there last month, and had a wonderful evening; I was surprised then that although the menu online is very limited, they had several specials on the menu that night. I found an excellent sweetbread which I love and its hard to find, and my wife had the sole lemon butter which was also goog. A... More

We happened upon this restaurant because it was located down the block from our B and B. The restaurant itself was beautifully decorated in the chic French bistro style. The wait service was very professional yet relaxed. You really get the feeling the staff is working together to ensure your experience. It obviously was "gourmet" in its selection of entrees... I am a classically trained chef and love French cuisine. We went to Le Canard Enchaine because we were in the area to attend a wedding. The food was superb - meticulously prepared in the best bourgeois tradition. I had their mousse pate which was thick and creamy - just right to slather on the warm French bread. My husband... More

We were looking forward to a nice meal for our fifth anniversary and Le Canard Enchaine exceeded our expectations. The foie gras was outstanding--as good as the best you'll find in NYC--and the duck confit was perfect. Add to that professional friendly service and the cute but unforced slice-of-Paris decor, and this became the highlight of our visit.

Although very expensive compared to other Kingston restaurants, the food atmosphere and service are exemplary. Lovely for romantic twosome or special celebration meal. Relax and dine.
