On the top of Lalibela, Ben Abeba has quite an amazing view from the top of Lalibela ! The food was also very good and the service closer to the western standards than what you can usually find in the country :) This is mainly...More

Wow! Great views. Memorable drinks and really neat architecture. Service was stellar! Food was good but might not order Sheppard's pie. Go with traditional food!

The design and layout of the this building is absolutely impressive. Make sure you check out the bathrooms as they are very unique as well. The place is touristy and the food is pricey (we ordered spriss juice--very good). Nonetheless, it is a great spot...More

Owned and operated by "mad Scottish woman" Susan Aitchison, Ben Ababa is nothing if not a unique experience. A quirky design evocative of a DIY spaceship, the restaurant stands out in the lovely, rustic community of Lalibela. Try the Ethiopian Shepherd's Pie for a delicious...More

Really proud of this place. Inexpensive but nice and close to nature. I'm vegetarian but had no problems ordering enough good stuff!

This restaurant is where all tourists go with their tour operators. It is therefore always crowded and waiters are overwhelmed. Terrible food and very bad service. So many better options in Lalibela (both for local and continental food).

Super quirky building with tremendous views that wouldn't be out of place in the Hollywood Hills. Great initiative by the Scottish owner to train local Lalibela youths in hospitality with several moving on to more culinary based restaurants. While the views were awesome, the building...More

The design of this place is nuts. It's like something out of Doctor Seuss. The views are amazing, the food is great, and the owner is a retired Scotswoman who seems to hold court every night to tell stories. Go here if you're in Lalibela.

As Ziolith pointed out, the restaurant lies at the northern edge of town, you will already see the unique shape of the roof from a distance.
