Like walking back into history, maybe 75 years. Wonderful atmosphere for time travelers. Wonderful soups, great service, comfort food, home cooking, friendly atmosphere, nice selection of beers, great bar, family owned, loyal staff (our waitress has worked there for 32 years). There's nothing like this...More

Stopped on a hot day while passing through off the turnpike. The hotel had an inviting appearance. The visit was more than we expected. We met the soup goddess! She creates soups daily. Today on the soup menu was "Cold Banana Bisque" I couldn't imagine...More

Best food east of the Mississippi. Features comfort foods in evenings. Hand made soups. Beautiful antique hand carved bar, great conversation. And to top it off, largest urinal in the world. I kid you not!

Soup and sandwiches rule here. But soup is king. Multiple selections every day. The atmosphere is great, Guinness on tap, a real phone booth, ancient urinal, all make for a delightful time. Stop by on the first Sunday of the month and catch live Irish...More

A friend and I met here for lunch recently. We'd heard about their great reputation for homemade soups and we were not disappointed. My friend had sweet potato/bacon soup and I had the butternut/sausage/orzo. We both had a salad; while it was good, I would...More
