Vanilla is a must if you are in Fira! We stumbled across this gem when looking for somewhere to eat on our second night in Santorini and it was so special we have booked to go back for our last night. The view is beautiful, especially at sunset. My partner and I each had starters, bread and tzatziki, mains and a side and a bottle of wine and it only set us back around £70, which is incredible value for money for the location, view, quality of food and service. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting to stop by this restaurant.

Beautiful restaurant with great atmosphere, amazing rooftop views of the calderra at sunset (table 61!) Located in the heart of Firostefani. We enjoyed so much we returned 3 times during our holiday, the service was excellent and attentive but didn't make you feel rushed and each time we visited we tried something different, there was such variety and every thing to a high standard. The Moussaka was outstanding, the beef stew melted in your mouth, Calamari was perfectly cooked, tomato balls the best we had, the hummus just delicious and the pizza's so large they offered a takeaway box. Compared to so many other restaurants the value for money, view and ambience you would be hard pushed to find any where better. Special mention to Kostas, so friendly, such high standards and great customer service.

We stayed in Firostefani for a week and visited Vanilla three times for an evening meal. We found the waiting staff to be attentive, even during busy services. The menu is varied and offers choice, good quality at a reasonable price compared to other local restaurants. Recommend pizza, pasta amatriciana and beef stew. The baklava was one of the best, in our opinion.

Good but way overpriced. Small plate of lettuce was 7 euro. When I wanted a few cucumbers and tomatoes in lettuce they wanted to charge additional 7. Greek yoghurt with fruit was less than a regular yoghurt cup and there was no fresh fruit. Some sugary candied fruit they call specialty. Not what I wanted when I decided to go for a health night snack. They refused to take it back so I had to pay for it. Would not recommend. Clearly they run on a location and that brings them traffic so they don’t have to care about prices or customer service.

So we visited here and I must admit my husband and I had a feeling it wouldn’t be good , we ordered a starter to share , ‘Crispy Shrimps with a sweet and sour sauce and chilli flakes’ the prawns were rubbery and not at all crispy, they had a mayonnaise sauce over them and served on a bed of lettuce , my husband couldn’t eat them, for my main I ordered the pork belly in a BBQ sauce, well as you can see by the photograph it was a slice of a pork chop deep fried with absolutely no meat on it whatsoever, the waiter asked if it was ok and I said it was not good , so he looked at it and asked if I wanted another one !? I laughed and said absolute not , the bill was brought over and he said I had to pay ! I did mention it was not pork belly as that is a slow cooked dish, he said it was and I had to pay ! I asked again if he was happy to charge me for a dish I did not eat , and he said again “you have to pay “

We decided to try this restaurant based on the reasonable reviews but based on our experience we were disappointed. The food was very average. My moussaka was thin and quite watery lacking the creaminess and depth of flavour you expect from this dish. My husband’s pork souvlaki was chewy. There was no atmosphere in the place : just felt like a pit stop for weary tourists.

Reasonable food and service idem, charge use fee of olive oil! That is, they deduce that 3 used the olive oil that was delivered to us in a tiny bottle and that was used in the salad that was not seasoned, in the account there was a fee of 3€ that we asked for explanations and informed us that 3 people had used the olive oil!!! Great pizza, better than many Italian pizzerias. Excellent quality, very nice view with terrace overlooking the caldera, very attentive and fast staff. My girlfriend and I are not very open to the traditions of the places we visit so we often go looking for places with Mediterranean/Italian cuisine. Speaking to a staff guy (our friend from Kashmir) he explained that all the basic ingredients come directly from Italy and I must say that the quality is felt. Super recommended for those who, like us, do not totally adapt to the typical Greek cuisine.

Really nice restaurant, possibility of internal arrangement or on the terrace with a view. Friendly and fast staff. We spent 71€ total with : two bowls of olives, one of bruschetta, two Moussaka, two desserts and two bottles of water. All really good and also the price I would say more than fair

If you value tasty, reasonably priced food, great service & lovely views, dine at Vanila! I had the pleasure of dining here for lunch and dinner while staying in nearby Firostefani. Authentic Greek & Mediterranean food has plentiful options on the menu, and the service is reliable and professional.

Beautiful location and really lovely food. Took our time and enjoyed half a caraf (very nice/good price) before ordering food and staff did not mind at all ... Greek pizza and roast chicken (with fries) both very good and staff attentive without being pushy. Would defiantly return.

Up towards the Firostefani end of the walk way Vanilia offers great food at good prices on the Caldera. Inside terrace seating with views and an open air rooftop dining option available. We ate here twice and both times the service and atmosphere were great. This has to be one of the more reasonably priced restaurants on the caldera still offering a view.

We found this restaurant while walking by through the village and liked the look of the menu. Very reasonably priced and full of choice.
The waiters are great and attentive, especially Miro who served us each night. Try the house white wine priced at 14 Euros and very tasty, the same bottle in Fira is 38 Euros.
Each night the food was tasty and filling. The tiramisu is delicious and the Baklava. Fried Calamari is tasty.
All in all an excellent place to eat, hopefully will return again in the future.

Unfortunately we didn't get to eat here at night because we had chosen another Italian named after the Mona Lisa painter which frankly was a rip off, however we did have a lunch pizza here which was excellent and stopped nearly every night for drinks because we discovered that this restaurant was definitely the best value of any overlooking the Caldera.
They are the only one that serves value carafes of local wine instead of the ridiculous bottle wine prices of the others on this strip.
Lovely view over the Caldera and friendly service from Miro. Sorry Miro that we didn't eat at night, but we will when we return.

We were a group of three and decided to try out this restaurant. We had three main courses and a starter. While eating I found a 2 short white hair in my food. When i did so we checked the remainig plates and found that there were 3 more same hair. We called the waitress right away and demanded that they could at least offer us new plates however she declinded saying that one of the plates was almost finished and that they cant do anything about it. We asked for the plate to be changed that was practically untouched and still they denied to replace it. After that the waitress immediately took our plates from the table even the ones that were not finished as if forcing as to leave. Then we asked not to be charged at least for the one plate that was full, and were told once again that it was impossible. After that we called another waiter to explain the situation who kept telling us in a quite rude way that the 5 white hair we found were not from the kitchen but were blown from the wind, which was even more infuriating since there was practically no wind at all. I would not recommend the restaurant to anyone and for those that choose to eat there i would advise them to go through their plates for small white hair before they start eating.
