We enjoyed a lovely lunch here after walking down the steps from Fira. We ordered a selection of mezedes and everything was fresh and tasted wonderful.

I have been to Santorini twice the past 3 years and as a local, I did my research to find the places where locals eat, and tourists do not arrive in double decker buses! Palia skala is one of them. Combine it with a donkey ride or morning walk down to the old harbor and you get a great experience.... More

We only had a couple a beers at this restaurant, after the long descent from Fira to the Old Port.It was a must after the walk on the hundreds of dusty steps. The little restaurant has a wonderful terrace with sea view.Friendly, helpful personnel.

We found this place accidentally after walking down the long stairwell to old port of Thira. Most of the restaurant down there by the sea seem very touristy with menus with pictures but that one was a bit further from the port. It is a family owned restaurant and the staff is very friendly and helpful. What is more the... More

I've eaten here many, many times and it's consistently great. George & his family treat you like one of them. The fava puree, a Santorini specialty, is so good and if you are lucky enough to visit in summertime have some of their own sun-dried tomatoes! Fantastic! Spinach pie, tomato balls, fresh seafood and of course souvlaki - It's all... More

I tried this small restaurant in Thyra's old port, randomly for lunch. At the first glance it looks like a typical greek tavern, blue chairs and white tables, with a suggestive view on the port, but a bit apart respect the messy tender boat dock. Just few tables inside the restaurant but more space under the porch. The service is... More

We got this recommendation from our hotel. After walking around for sunset we caught the cable car down to the pier. You can get a donkey ride too. What a beautiful view!! The sunset from here was so magical and added to the romantic ambience. The pier is old but completely safe. There is a lamppost at the end of... More

We visited Palia Skala (George's Place) initially for a well deserved beer after descending the steps from cliff tops at Fira. After avoiding hoardes of cruise visitors and donkeys it was just what we needed. The setting is wonderful, on the pier edge and when no cruise liners are off-loading or re-boarding passengers it is so tranquil. The restaurant is... More
