Used to be a happy shop - friendly staff and fresh food. Not any more. Surly staff who clearly think they are superior, and food that is not always fresh. No excuses - we deserve better Taylors!!

Covid seems to have hit this place hard - no shelves selling other deli products, just a fridge with cans of drink at £1.50 and a few chocolate snacks at the till. My panini was fine but the service was begrudging and the sandwich counter...looked very bare. A shame.More
Probably the most pathetic bacon baguette I’ve ever had anywhere in my life !!! 2 small rashers of barely cooked bacon in a 10” baguette, zero service and cold coffee which was froth ! NEVER AGAIN
I purchased a brie and sundried tomato flatbread sandwich today, there were 2 of the skinniest pieces of brie inside, a few sundried tomatoes, and loads of black olives that I had to take out as they were unpleasant, thus leaving very little else. I...had to pay £4.80 for this. Never again!More
It’s probably the least salubrious of the Taylors locations in and around Oxford based in some sh!tty 1950 strip mall in a cr&ppy part of Botley near the ring road where they’re building all the new student accommodation. But the coffee’s excellent, you can park...outside, the staff are helpful and there are plenty of great cakes and sausage rolls etc to be had. Great if you’re on the go. Frequent the other Oxford Taylors if you fancy something a bit calmer and posher!More
Very disappointed! I ordered a coffee and 2 portugues tarts” natas” they are called ! I was served in a plastic cup ! I did not ask a take away! I looked over to the coffee machine they just didn’t had any ! My tarts...wore out in a paper bag I said I don’t recall ordering a take away the girl look at what I assume her boss and said I don’t think we have any plates do we? Sat down thinking ho well let me enjoy ! The natas wore from the day before guaranteed i am portugues I know I was shocked ridiculous not a place to go. Second time !More
Stopped here for a pick me up coffee only to find the AC on at the end of December on cold! What sort of place is the one where you need to keep your coat on to enjoy a warm coffee?!? Coffee was okay.
I regularly get coffee from this cafe when taking my kids to karate nearby. The service is good and the coffee is well prepared. There’s also a wide choice of snacks. Will visit again.
Having used the different Taylors across Oxford, for a number of years I’m shocked at some of the poor comments they have received?! The service is always friendly and efficient, if you go at the peak of lunch trade it’s not as personable but it’s...fast which means you get to eat the incredible food faster! Their specials are great and where they have them ready made it makes for a quick grab and go lunch! I treated myself to their ham and Brie baguette from the new shop in the covered market and had it warmed up...OMG - cold day with a warm lunch, enjoyed every last crumb! Thank you 😊More
had to que which is not their fault but they could get a move on with all those staff in their and then when i got to my turn told they had run of out baguettes and did I want a bap, well what choice...did I have after waiting 5 mins or more! Got to the till only to be charged 20p extra per bap, as advertised on their board, even though it was their fault they run out! Whilst I was in the que one customer started to eat one of the custard tarts for sale on the side and whilst I was outside he came and out from his comments he obviously got away without paying for it! So I am charged extra and he is not charged at all!More
Stale bread, stingy fatty meat and very expensive - what more could you want from a sandwich deli?! The staff are also really rude. The owner needs to take heed - so many negative reviews.
the food is lovely but staff is very unfriendly. The place is good but management need to retrain their staff in terms of customer service. I would give it a try again.
What an awful shame ...I have been popping into Taylor's Summertown on a regular basis to pick up a coffee. I requested my usual cappuccino to go. On walking away I realised that the cup was extremely light. On arrival at my desk I then...realised that the cup had very very little coffee in it. Mostly foam, and that was three quarters down the cup anyway. The following day I mentioned this to A member of staff, who quite rudely suggested that I did not know what a cappuccino was. She told me it was meant to be just foam !!!, So ... Sorry Taylor's I shall now pop into Gail's , just up the road for my usual coffee and snack! I also suggest that an overall of 'some' staff customer service. FMore
Sad to see such a stalwart of thd Oxford scene in such a state but little wonder they are struggling. Surly staff, overpriced food that isnt that fresh and dirty premises. There are so many better options for customers now - sharper, more interesting independent...operators abound in Oxford. I shan't return.More
Because if you do, thats the place to go. Combine it with unfriendly staff - picked the wrong sandwich first, when we corrected her, she rolled her eyes, couldnt bring herself to a smile or normal conversation throughout the whole interaction. Sandwich was barely edible,...and burnt. This refers to the High Street taylors deli. Wouldn't go there again - Oxford has better alternatives.More
