This place used to be decent but lately I’m disappointed over and over by both the quality and the delivery service. The last 2 times we ordered delivery it took well over an hour for the food to arrive and we live less than a...half mile away. And, unfortunately, the food is less than OK every time.More

We have been getting takeout from Ichiban for years. A couple of years ago they moved a few yards south from what had been a fairly substantial restaurant with a goldfish tank etc. into a much smaller place. The new place is really more of...a takeout shop with a couple of tables, and so not many customers dine in. While it is listed as a Japanese restaurant, they serve Chinese food as well. And the food is consistently excellent. I usually go for a Combination Dinner such as the Pork Hunan Style, which comes with pork fried rice and an egg roll for just under $9. It has a spicy black bean sauce which gives it a rich flavor, so much so that I don't need to slap on the soy sauce that Chinese food from other places seems to need. The meat is of excellent quality. The vegetables are fresh and there are plenty of them. Even at this low price there is enough for two meals. The menu is long. There's no better takeout in Pearl River!More

Terrible Chinese food. They had young children behind counter taking orders , garbage piled up in garbage can by counter, food did not taste fresh. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Ichiban Chinese Japanese restaurant on Main Street in Pearl River, N.Y. Has been a local staple for many years. The food is competent and very reasonable. Tonight, we had MuShu Pork (too heavy on the sauce) which came with four large pancakes. The large portion...was more than enough for two adults. Paired with a soup starter, one egg drop and one wonton (which were the best we've had in awhile) we ran out of room for more. Our check came with sliced oranges which were icy cold and very refreshing. Next time, we will ask to have our dirty dishes removed prior to serving the dessert. Otherwise, we were very pleased.More
