This was our second time dining here (the first was during a Hudson Valley Restaurant Week a few years ago), and we wanted to dine at a place near the Bardavon Theatre where we were going to see a movie later that night. We were seated quickly upon arrival, and in a few minutes were greeted by our server, Christine.... More

Specifically went to Poughkeepsie to try this restaurant and we were not disappointed. Hip modern interior and great food. The fried tofu squares with daikon and carrot slaw was amazing. The four onion soup was one of the best we've had. We were on a mini vacation in the area and had been eating out quite a bit. In comparison... More

It's an impressive looking restaurant when one walks in and it has innovative tableware. However the kale and goat cheese risotto lacked flavor. The duck was better but the Brussels sprout leaves and mushrooms that accompanied it were just OK. The chocolate marquis dessert is a mouse. It was good but not great. For these prices the tastes ought to... More

While revisiting our favorite local places since Frank was diagnosed with Celiac, we realized we had never been to Artist Palete. Someone suggested it and have to say that although there was not a separate GF menu, our server Dave was very knowledgeable and helpful in making choices. There was plenty to choose from. Frank had the onion soup sans... More

Three of us for dinner on a Tuesday evening. We visited this restaurant based on the great reviews we had read, and they were spot on! This is one of those restaurants that delivers at all levels. The service was great, the food was exquisite and we really enjoyed the entire event. The menu changes from time to time, and... More

I have been at this restaurant several times. The food is always excellent. They use fresh, local ingredients and have a creative chef. Tonight I had the prix fixe menu which consisted of 3 courses and a small morsel to begin with (excellent salmon ceviche followed by an onion/apple tart, slightly blackened salmon on forbidden (black) rice and a root... Looking for a dining experience while in town on my Birthday we decide on this restaurant . We looked online at open table as we were considering a reservation and noticed that there were many open reservations all evening so we decided to just hop in the car for the 7 min drive once we got there at 630 we... I have been dining at The Artist's Palate since it opened and have never had a bad meal. Everything is prepared to perfection and I never leave feeling overstuffed or unsatisfied. Enjoyed Crispy Fried Tofu Cucumber-cilantro salad, ponzu dipping sauce and Grilled Faroe Island Salmon.

Was skeptical that a restaurant this nice was on Main Street in Poughkeepsie. However, it was a delightful find! Excellent service and great atmosphere. The penne pomodoro was delicious and my husband enjoyed his brisket tremendously. My only criticism was that the roasted mushrooms and brussels sprouts were slightly disappointing and lacked any type of season or added flavor. The... More

Not the best area, but Poughkeepsie looks to be on the up-swing. Great space with a large hood vent running down the center of the dining area. Once side is all cool paintings, the other side old exposed brick. We sat at a huge table for four right in front of the kitchen. It was very busy, service was strained... More

Description
A 70 seat American-Fusion Restaurant, the only one in the area using truly local ingredients and changes thier menu every two weeks based on the availability of products. Both the beer menu and wine list are extensive and reasonable. As well one of the only restaurants that say if we don't have we will do our best to get it for your reservation.
