If you enjoy German food, products or feeling nostalgic of what your omas kitchen smelled like growing up...Swans is the spot. I go for lunch or to pick up meats and cheeses and never disappointed. Great spot!

If you are looking for an intimate table for (2), this is not your place. If you are looking to experience a bit of Germany, great German cooking, great hospitality, German beer from Germany by the glass, or pitcher, in a casual German atmosphere, rubbing elbows with other diners, then you are at the right place. The food is amazing,... More

I wasn't sure what to expect. We got there early and were able to get a table right away. I was surprised by the communal seating but it turned out to be a great experience. The food was delicious and we will definitely go back. Truly an amaxing German experience. Tip: Go early or expect that you may wait a... More

Small place but truly authentic & FRIENDLY & DELICIOUS!!!!! Only a few tables so you sit where ever, we were lucky enough to sit with a man who has his picture on the wall. Come to find out he was the previous owner. He shared his food with us & his stories!!! What a FANTASTIC time!!!!

When we go to Swan's for lunch, we always go on a Saturday, usually after going to the nearby Public Market. Unless you want to wait in line for a while, you have to get there early, around 11-11:30 a.m. Much later and the line will be snaking out the door. At least if you do have to wait, there... More

This is absolutely the best place for that Octoberfest meal. Mind you most people don't eat German food but the sausages etc in Sept/Oct but Swans is the best. Being half German and having a grandma from Germany I should know.

Swan market is the place to be for German meats and fare. The setup is lively and communal with lots of decorations and fun things to look at! Very large selection of different types of meats and sausages. The waitstaff is always happy to explain anything you'd like. Also make sure to taste the soup, it is incredible and made... More

At one time Rochester had many fine German Restaurants. Those times have changed but the prime location is still here. Authentic, homemade German food, sausages and meats available at a deli counter [yes, wrapped in butcher paper], a variety of German biers [not a mis-spelling], picnic table meals with friends and new friends, German packaged goods available, moderate prices, a... Have been here before, and still find their Homemade German food and deli meats excellent, along with the red cabbage and warm German potato salad.

Unassuming hide-away deli-cafe that delivers authentic German food. Always a line to be seated. Not open for dinner. Only Open Wed-Sat lunchtime

Thank Paul D

All meat at Swan Market is hand-cut, all sausage hand-made by owner Barry Fischer, who apprenticed with German master butchers to bring you a taste of Germany that's authentic down to the last detail.

Swan's renowned German lunches are served Wednesday through Saturday from 11 to 2. Grab a seat at one of the communal tables and hoist a glass of imported German beer. It's impossible to go away hungry! There's also live German music on the last Thursday and Friday of each month.

Wan can also cater events of any size, with anything from cold-cut trays to a full pig roast.
