Several area restaurants had waits of 45 min plus. Wanted something quick but not fast food. Tried this place. Ordered waffle with bananas, walnuts and honey. Half portion was more than enough. Also had strawberry banana smoothie. All tasty. No table service. Simple booths.

Be brave, go down the alley and down the, ick, don't touch anything, stairway and you will end up in Funk 'n Waffles. Everything here is made to order. It is extremely popular with the University crowd and deservedly so. The savory waffle I had was delicious. They gave me a pager due to the wait, but a table was... More

During my son's parents weekend at ESF we came across an old bar I remember from my college day's 30 or years ago. I can recall the name of the bar off Marshall Street -Sutter's Mill. It has been turned into a waffle place called Funk 'n waffles and it has been advertised on the Food Network. It lived up... More

Only minutes by foot from the Syracuse University campus this Guy Fieri Triple D basement level spot delivers unique and tasty waffles. My son had the Falafel Waffle and I had Chocolate City and we both enjoyed them very much. I would have gone for the signature Chicken (wings!) and Waffles but I had a long run planned later in... Saw on DDD ages ago, double checked on Tripadvisor that it was still a destination. Came for lunch on a Wednesday. Warmly greeted the second we walked in. My boyfriend and I both ordered the Bootsy Brunch waffles, bacon, eggs, cheddar on waffles. Could smell the waffles being made. When they were ready, we questioned whether or not we would... More

We came for lunch after church on Sunday. It was a challenge finding the place since we are from VA but, a little walking helped to increase the appetite. We got the chicken and waffles and the Jive Turkey. We were totally satisfied with our food. Good thing we opted for the half orders.

I ordered two waffles. One was a chicken and waffles and the other was The Jive. This one is supposed to be a stuffing waffle with mashed potatoes, turkey, cranberry sauce and gravy. My waffle was a regular ordinary waffle - not the stuffing. There was also no gravy what so ever. There was also way too much mashed potatoes... More

While in Syracuse shopping we took the kids here for breakfast. There were many great choices for making waffles, including chocolate waffles! The portions were well sized and the kids sure left happy. All parking in the vicinity was metered parking. The restaurant is down a stairs at the end of side entrance from the street. It is dark inside... More

As someone "on-the-way-to-be" vegan, having the option to have a falafel made waffle was really cool. They also offer a vegan waffle batter which is really good and sweet. I enjoyed every part of it. If you're going for savory & sweet, I think half a waffle is enough unless you're starving.

Order at the counter, receive a buzzer and sit down, also bus your own tables. Live music most nights, funk music playing other times. But go for the waffles. They actually cook ingredients INTO the batter. I had the Florentine - a waffle with spinach and feta inside, topped with smoked salmon and served with sour cream. A friend had... More
