Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a longtime go-to spot whenever I'm visiting family in the Hunter-Tannersville area. The last time I was here, I tried something that I usually wouldn't order off the extensive menu - a pot pie. I was looking for a comfort food, and this...pot pie did not disappoint! The crust was flaky and crisp, which totally made the dish. Plus it was loaded with chicken, vegetables, and a sauce that was all creamy goodness. I also recommend the tasty Bloody Mary. I was driving later, so I had mine "virgin," although it's more like almost virgin. The bartender let me know that they put a little beer in the secret sauce mix for added flavor (heads up). I love the subtle inventiveness, plus the kick of spice, and it definitely tasted great - whatever those secret ingredients may be! Needless to say, I'll be back again and again.More

We went to see a waterfall in the Catskills on the way home from Saratoga Springs and found this place on the internet. What a find! Tannersville is a lovely little town and the Last Chance Antique and Cheese Café is a comfortable, welcoming place...right on the main street. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. They all seem to have a passion for the place and made us feel very welcome –Our server, Crystal, was not only very friendly and efficient, she also made excellent recommendations for our dinner. The four of us shared the goat cheese salad and the pulled pork tacos. I had the onion soup and our friends had the chili. All was excellent! For main courses I had the Bison cheddar burger, my wife and her friend each had the tavern steak sandwich and her husband had the smoked jalopeno burger. Again, all excellent! We were so full by this point but wanted to taste dessert, so Crystal recommended we share their homemade NY style cheese which was perfect. All in all a very enjoyable mealMore

Stopped in here to get a platter made of local cheeses and meats. They did a great job of letting us pick out our cheese and put together a nice platter with apple, crackers and fig jam. We also got a sandwich to go, which...was delicious. Really cool vibe, wish we had more time to hang out.More

Maybe we just hit it wrong? Chicken pot pie and knish'wich were both microwaved and really mediocre, almost like something from the hot bar at Stewart's, just greasy and with lots of shortcuts in the prep. The latter was $12, so okay, still my hard...earned money but at least it's cheap; the former was $24. Outrageous. We saw our waitress twice, once when she took our order and once when we asked for the check. She was quite harsh and insincere not just with us, but all her patrons. We didn't walk away with a desire to return. Maybe stop in for just a beer next time, beer list is good.More

We’ve eaten there many times and never been disappointed. Great food and drink selection. Great service. Warm staff and atmosphere. Beautifully appointed wood interior with a variety of interesting areas to sit, including a greenhouse room and bar. Also a cozy front porch and rear...patio seating outside. All in all, a perfect place to stop and get refreshed while experiencing the Catskills all year.More

This is a nice little shop that is also a restaurant. We were staying at an Airbnb nearby and we had to get the cheese board. We were not disappointed in the amount of the assortment that we received. I cannot remember what cheeses they...were but they were all delicious! The shop had a lot of snacks and candies to buy so we had to pack our bags full of those for the drive home. 10/10 would come back.More

I might like to end a ski day with a couple of beers at the base of the mountain. But if this is a day trip to the Catskills, and I’m looking at a few hours of driving to get home, then I need something...different and this was perfect. A chicken pot pie and an ice tea and I felt ready for the drive home. Really friendly staff, great food, charming environment. We even had to table right next to the fireplace!More

Cool place but very busy and the food was good. French onion soup was tangy and chili was good. Five of us went for dinner on a Sunday night (Monday was a holiday) at 6:30 and waited an hour for a table.

I have been going to Last Chance for more than 25 years and it has always been great. This was the first time that I was there for a private event, a dinner of a fraternal organization. As always it was fantastic. Dave the proprietor...was very attentive always asking if I/we needed anything.More

From the moment we walked in the door on a busy Saturday until we walked out - full and happy, every element of the experience was great! Friendly, attentive staff - nicely varied menu full of locally produced items and warm Catskills kitsch all around...you. Our food was perfectly done and came out quickly. We will definitely return and if you are going to or through Tannersville - go hungry and thirsty through these doors!More
