Great selection of not only entrees, but also pub favorites that are served in a very unique turn of the century atmosphere.
Their list of international and domestic bottled brews is by far the largest I’ve ever seen, and they also serve mixed drinks.
There is a section of the restaurant that features an old school candy shop where you can also purchase a variety of cheeses and other artisan style edible items.
Whether your staying in Tannersville or just passing through, this place is worth checking out for dining as either a couple or as a family. We’ve done both for many years and have never been disappointed.

Let’s just say this place is the only thing standing after 30 years in this town.... HVI is gone, Slopes is gone, even the best taxi/ fried chicken place is gone ( sorry can’t remember the name). Finally ate here. First the selection of beer is off the charts, good old school candy choices, great atmosphere, service was great, food was decent, had $14 cheese platter( for 14, I think it could have been much heavier, 2 small pieces of cheese ,2 small slices of orange, about 10 crackers and a few slices of blah pepperoni.) Mac and cheese was good, so was the tuna. Knish sandwich was a great idea but could have been served much hotter.

Whoa so good!! My wife and I had a wonderful experience and meal here, staff is so friendly and food is terrific. We ate outside near the street. Great playlist was on, we decided to eat fun (drinks, fondue, s'mores) and even added a t-shirt to bring home. Everything was set up to encourage covid safety and our fellow dinners were all diverse families and groups. Hope we get back here someday!

Continue for a few minutes on Route 23A which becomes Main Street in Tannesville, NY and enjoy the town with colorful shops and places to eat.
Particularly liked Last Chance for the curiously interesting lunch menu of good food served by very pleasant staff. The owner was also very hands on and accommodating.
Also enjoyed the desserts and candy section of the store.
Came highly recommended and did not disappoint.
Nice relaxing pleasant local lunch outside after hiking the Kaaterskill Falls!

This little cafe is truly amazing. The amounts of different types of cheeses, beers and whiskeys is truly remarkable. Highly recommend after a long day of hitting the slopes at Hunter Mountain.

I have been going to Last Chance Cheese my whole life. It is my favorite restaurant. The food is always tasty and fresh. It is a family owned business and the staff is always warm and friendly. This restaurant is a must visit if you are in the area or can make the trip. They have antiques all throughout, a whole section devoted to the freshest and diverse candy, a huge selection of beer and cheese. And there is live music with space for dancing in the backroom when there isn't a pandemic going on. I absolutely love this spot!

We stopped here randomly while we hiking in the area. I feel obligated to write a review as their portabella mushroom sandwich was simply amazing. With the goat cheeses, pita and red peppers ... I even said mid meal that I would never be able to order the same anywhere else as it just wouldn’t live up. And I’m not even big on mushroom burger! Try the goat cheese, trust me.
Other food wasn’t really anything spectacular.

Because of Covid restrictions on the lodge at Hunter Mt., we were not able to eat on the mountain. We quit early afternoon and headed to town for a bite to eat. Last Chance provided a large variety and I had a Quiche Lorraine with a salad and an English beer. The food was good. The ambience of antiques throughout the restaurant was very interesting. I would recommend for a late lunch/early dinner.

We stopped here after our ziplining tour. Food was delicious and quick. Had a table on the porch on the main street of Tannersville. My wife and daughter had soup and salads which were more than enough for lunch. I had the French Dip which was large and delicious. The sandwich had lots of melted cheese and served on a nice crispy bun with plenty of well seasoned potato wedges. We got a ten percent discount for showing our zipline bracelets. Highly recommend this restaurant if in the Tannersville area.

We first stopped in and purchased two cappuccinos and sugar free chocolate (I am a coffee snob but I really enjoyed cappuccino) After we saw other people getting their food (which looked awesome) we decided to order. I had their burger and it was pretty great. They also make some pretty great bloody Marys. Would most def go back!
COVID-19 Precautions: staff wore masks, as well as almost all of the patrons. They had outdoor and indoor seating. They provided sanitizer where you placed your order and the bathrooms were clean.

I venture up to the Catskill mountains at least once a year, while my destinations can vary from year to year, I always carve out some time to stop in to Last Chance for a meal (and some candy). The menu is solid, much of the food is a warm hug in edible form. There is a massive variety of bottled beer available, as well as a large variety of cheese to choose for the platter. I always order way too much food, the only complaint I have is that everything is so desirable and I am only one person, it's hard to exercise restraint.
In addition to the restaurant portion, there is a store counter in which a wide variety of candy, local honey, maple syrup, cheese & beer to go, and of course Last Chance merch is available. During non-Covid times, there is a bar attached to the restaurant in which live performances take place. It's one of my favorite spots in the world.

We came as a family of 5 and had all different dishes. Everything we ordered was delicious and the server was very nice! My son loves the Mac and cheese with pulled pork and bacon. My husband liked their chili. I had the ribeye steak and that was soooooo good. Meat was tender like imthey sous vide the steak
Highly recommend this place.

Worst service I ever had. Honestly the server couldn’t do anything properly and kept calling me her friend. I’m not your friend, bad waitress, my “friend” wouldn’t have left my food sitting 10 feet away from me while it got colder and harder. My friend wouldn’t have forgotten to bring my silverware after my soup came. It just kept getting colder while my “friend” snapped at me annoyingly when I asked for a soup spoon to eat with. Bad service will be the end of this place that used to be great.

From the moment we walked in the door on a busy Saturday until we walked out - full and happy, every element of the experience was great! Friendly, attentive staff - nicely varied menu full of locally produced items and warm Catskills kitsch all around you. Our food was perfectly done and came out quickly. We will definitely return and if you are going to or through Tannersville - go hungry and thirsty through these doors!

Stopped in here to get a platter made of local cheeses and meats. They did a great job of letting us pick out our cheese and put together a nice platter with apple, crackers and fig jam. We also got a sandwich to go, which was delicious. Really cool vibe, wish we had more time to hang out.
