Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I love this place - and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals and dessert. Here, and Angelina’s is very often my go-to place with family and friends!!

We recently hosted a surprise party for my father at the Olde Stone Mill. We enjoyed a cocktail hour in the restaurant's lovely outdoor patio. The restaurant's attentive staff readily served us cocktails along with numerous and very delicious hors d'oeuvres. Dinner was in the...quaint Pub Room which gave our guests an intimate and cozy feeling. I was very impressed with the number of dinner options the restaurant offered our guests along with the high quality of the food. The staff was professional, friendly and very accommodating. This restaurant will remain a favorite of mine because it offers a historic ambience coupled with excellent food. I'll always be grateful for the wonderful evening they gave my father and his guests.More

It had its moments, but it had its down sides too. The service was nice, but a bit too old school for me. Service was very good. The Gamber Bazara was great - both the sauce and shrinp. The caesar dressing was too heavy and...the fish special was bland. My overall would be between good and average, but the caesar dressing and fish took it down a star.More

Under new management Gene Dinapoli and had the pleasure to meet him as well. We had to order our food to go and they were so accommodating. Penne alla Vodka with a side of 2 meatballs, Filet Mignon with potato croquette and veggies, Chicken Martini...with Lemon, Butter, White Wine, Served with Potato Croquette and Vegetable and for 1 of our finicky eater lol, spaghetti with olive oil and grilled chicken. Have to say all of it WAS INCREDIBLY AWESOME!! it was authentic Italian. Brought back a great childhood memory of my sunday family Italian dinners. Outstanding food and service! Will be returning for true sit down dinner.More

New Owners have made the Old Stone Mill Restaurant into a little gem. Indoor, Outdoor garden, or Dinner @ the Bar. Excellent Food & Attentive Waiter/Bus Boy Service. The Seafood Linguini, Veal & stuffed Potatoe croquet were Delish! A Linen Restaurant with a Frank Sinatra...theme. Inside had a pianist & outside had a DJ Singer. Generous Portions & nice presentation. Only complaint: they charge $3.50 for Soda Fountain Refills. Older Charismatic Owner immediately rectified & gave us complimentary after dinner cordials. Free On Site Parking & a short stroll from the Bronx River. We will Definitely go back. 😎👍👍More

I went to this establishment for the first time with my fiancee last week. I'd pass it a million times and never tried it. I got to say we sat outside and the ambience was great. Beautiful greenery and your close to a little stream....We ordered some wine and appetizers. The calamari and giant meatballs were really great. The service was good. The manager couldn't do enough for you. We will most certainly be back.More

Have been to the Olde Stone Mill on a number of occasions and it has been OK. But last night was such that I may not return. We arrived at 6pm with reservations. We had to wait about 5 minutes because we were told that...they had to transition. But before we were seated I went in to the ladies room to find one of the 2 toilets backed up. The room itself was a bit of a mess . Clearly the room had had a lot of activity and it did not indicate that any one from the staff had been in there to keep it looking respectable. As I was telling the bartender about the one stall, a waitress said she would go in and check it out. I don't know if the issue was resolved because I did not want to go back in to that room. When we were seated in the main dining room, there was a large party that was winding down. There was one other table seated. The hostess/manager? seated us right by the large party. There were empty tables along the back area of the room. After we were seated members of the party were running around the room. I got up and asked that we get moved into the other room. She stated that they would be leaving soon. That is not the answer I wanted to hear first. in that you cannot tell me that they are leaving in 5 min,10 min etc and then I will have to watch you break down the tables that were put together for this large party. We were begrudgingly brought into the other room. The garden room as it may be called was fine. We were in a corner and there were 2 tables in use. While looking at the empty tables that were set up. There were a large sauce stain clearly visible on the side of the table cloth of the table across from us and small stains on the table cloth of the table adjacent to us. These details which I described clearly took away from the experience that we had. The waiter was pleasant and the food fine. A very disappointing visit.More

This is an update to my previous review. We checked with our card issuer and are now advised that our account has now been properly credited with the additional amount taken out. A very satisfactory customer service ending to an otherwise excellent meal.

The service was terrible and so was the food. Took an hour just to get a menu and then another 30 minutes before anyone came over to take our order. When we received our appetizer it was cold. Waited forever to get our salad. I...love the cozy ness of this restaurant. Too bad the service and food was terrible. Last time we will go there.More

We had a very good mixed salad and dressings served family style along with unlimited white wine, red wine, and soft drinks before our entree of pork chops, hot peppers, and mashed potatoes. Dessert was a slice of frosted vanilla cake and coffee or tea.
