This is a great lunch spot overlooking the owner's classic car collection. The set menu was traditional Mauritian fare, absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. The service is very attentive and friendly. Our favourite lunch we had during our 10 days in Mauritius!

The food was really tasty. Fish curry & sausages. My husband & I had the menu of the day & our son had grilled chicken & chips. Very good & generous portions. Having the cars surrounding you is also great as it kept our 10 year old entertained.

Chez Tante Athalie is the place to have lunch if you are looking for a cool, out of town place to eat in a superb museum type environment where vintage car are exposed, birds singing melodiously outside and where one of the best creole cuisine is served. Maryline leaves no stone unturned to please her guest!

I was looking forward to visit this restaurant as one of the highlights of our Mauritius holiday. Natural setting and the classic cars around, what a special place! We arrived there at 3 pm and when we entered the premises I was asked by a lady in her 50s (the owner?) whether she could help. I told her that we... More

Michelin star food this is not.... but if you are looking for authentic Mauritian cuisine, a unique setting and friendly warm hospitality then this is your place. I am not one to rate a place with 5 stars but this was more than a meal; it was an experience. The food was good, I choice from a set menus and... More

A beautiful countryside setting with some vintage cars to admire if you wander round the garden. Our meal was a big disappointment. Their menu of the day comprised a small, rather tasteless salad, a very small portion of rather tasteless beef curry served with plenty of plain rice, and the smallest banana flambé that I have ever eaten. Not good... More

Authentic Mauritian cuisine with a warm welcome and lovely atmosphere. The old cars collection and Cessna airplane make it a unique concept that we'll be greatly appreciated by few. If not for the concept, the personnel will make sure that you enjoy your meal.

We turned up without a reservation at this quirky restaurant in the fields. You arrive down a grand tree-lined driveway at a closed-up house - don't worry! Chez Tante Athalie is round the back, to the left. Very informal, fascinating old cars outside including an MGB GT, much-admired among the young of the 1970s. The food is excellent, the staff... Great location, a relax oasis with a "little museum of vintage cars". We chose 2 adult menu and one baby menu. For good price Food taste good, mild spicy and desserts + coffee also taste good! Try it!
