Take a lazy stroll in the evening to one of the best fast sea food markets on the east Africa coast. The atmosphere is bustling, safe and friendly. The vibe is like no other. The food is par excellence. If you are into snobbish fine dining this might not be the place for you. But if you really want to... More

Well...this place is a park during the day but in the evening different caterers set up their stalls in the garden selling food. The prices are more than awesome. Walk around compare prices first. Make it a point to have their fresh sugar cane juice made right there. Even if you are on diet it's just one night an experience... More

Well this is our experience of Forodani Gardens - at night. Very expensive, the sea-food was old (constantly re-warmed), dirty (flies everyware on meat). The flip-side: there were reasonably-priced fresh produce available. The banana and chocolate pastery is a must! Sugar pulp drink, good value. Dont get intimidated by pushy venders.

You have a variety of sea foods and drinks, yummy pizzas and an amazing night life and can just sit on the pier and enjoy the sounds of the waves.....It's a nice place to be and you definitely get to enjoy good food.

The markets in StoneTown is interesting, but they dont really differ from other African markets, apart from the fact that they are tourism aware and as a result it is sometimes hard to simply explore in peace, since so many people are trying to "show their shop". The so called "gift packets" of spices I believe would be only suitable... More

To visit the Forodhani gardens again, after my previous holiday seven years ago, brought back sweet memories! The tables stacked with loads of kebabs, different seafoods, corn-on-the-cob and pizzas confirmed the traditions. New to me was the cooks dressed up in white jackets and white chef's hats. You looked smart! The buzz of the market, locals and tourists enjoying themselves,... More

This is a nice place in the middle of town, security is not an issue here in Zanzibar and its very safe so feel free and enjoy the slow life like the locals

So Zanzibar and Tanzania are known for their street finger food. This place was recommended to us by a friend and we absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is great, wonderful breeze and definitely lovely. We even got to watch a bunch of guy show off their diving skills. The kids certainly enjoyed picking the seafood of their choice and standing... More

The food here is OK but overpriced. The best kebabs are the squid and octopus, the other seafood wasn't great.
