They only take cash! That's the only reason why I didn't give it full 5 stars. Thankfully I just went to the arm. I tried to pay with a credit card and they said cash only. Other than that, everything was enjoyable. I got a vegetarian Zanzibar stew and some wine. It's right on the beach so you can watch... More

This restaurant is situated right on the shore and has excellent views of the seafaring fraternity. They serve light tasty meals and lovely cold beers! (Necessary if you go to Zanzibar with SA Rands :( ) It is a great place as a meeting point as everybody knows where it is.

Beautiful setting right on the water. Service was slow the first time we went, the second time we went 30 minutes before dinner service started so had some beers. Finally 1 1/2 hours our food came. Why did a continuous tape play "The Best of the Bee Gees" in a place named after Freddie Mercury?

We have been 7 years ago in this restaurant and it seems literally like yesterday. Nothing has changed. Same old decoration. Needs serious renovation. True it is nice to see Freddie Mercury pictures on the wall a sign of past glory for this restaurant, but you can't live in the past. Get it up to a better standard and people... More

The table cloth was so dirty as if it hasn't been cleaned for a week. Food and drinks are ok but it is hard to enjoy anything while concerning about hygene.

My wife and i had lunch there. The prices are a bit high and the quality was average. We waited almost 40 minutes till we got our dishes.

The food is overpriced and mediocre. The wine was especially bad! However, it was nice to sit and watch the busy ferries being loaded and unloaded.

I have been to Mercury's a few years ago and was sadly disappointed of the current state of affairs. Although Stonetown has been plagued with various problems over the last few years including a cholera outbreak when I was there in April 2016 this place is not what it used to be. A lot of construction is happening all over... More

Plenty of choices on the menu from pizzas to more authentic Zanzibari fayre. Had a very nice Zanzibari chicken curry. Staff were friendly and made helpful suggestions. Enjoyed our meal there.
