Mashariki is an impressive restoration job. It is worth visiting to see the architecture alone. The rooftop is lovely and the food is very simple but delicious. The manager is on hand to help with choices and to helps with special dietary requirements. Definitely a...More

A fine dining experience, enhanced by the beautiful views, and the cooling breezes (after a climb up 3 stories). Well worth the effort. Recommended by a friend, but very difficult to find. You might be tempted to just wile away the afternoon. (The Mashariki Palace...More

Of the three places we ate in Stonetown this was by far the best. One first-class dinner and three breakfasts (as guests of the hotel). Far better than the excruciatingly slow and stingy rooftop restaurant in another nearby hotel and better than the relatively decent...More

Went for lunch to the terrace of Mashariki. Beautiful view, and the food was gorgeous. We had platter of seafood with more than enough seafood (Lobster, Prawns, Calamari, Seagulls), freshness and quality of preparation are masters in this place! Do not miss it!

Personalised and well prepared meal. All the ingredients were very fresh. Quiet setting and amazing view. Although the power was off in the city (AFRICA!), the staff did what they could to still make it very enjoyable.

This rooftop restaurant offers a wonderful view of the water. The setting was excellent and the waiters were attentive and friendly. Our food was tasty and well- prepared, if somewhat pricey. We had both dinner here and breakfast.
