Wonderful wine and wonderful food. Makes a wonderful evening. Tucked into a charming narrow lane in scenic Saint Emilion this was a highlight of all the wonderful food we enjoyed in France

We loved this small restaurant. Elegant and well priced. Country food with a gourmet touch. Had cocq au vin. Delicious. Located on a steep walking street. Do not wear heels. Well worth the walk.

Reservation was made weeks in D Vance and was honored perfectly. Lovely ambiance, excellent food, expert service, tasty wine by the glass. The setting is on a unique cobblestone street. A Sunday meal was very well attended in an otherwise very quiet town. Everyone was happy and the owner was gracious to lend us an umbrella to make our way... More

Restaurant Le Tertre was recommended by our Hotel Receptionist (La Commanderie). We were a group of 5 and ordered a 3 course menu, which was served with a Amouse Bouche. The Food was very tasty and the service by a young team very friedly and professional. The owners were always present. Nice and cosy atmosphere. We highly recommend and we... More

We were recommended this place and on a busy Saturday my party of 4 were lucky to get the last table. The waiter was certainly abrupt, and gave us the impression that he would have preferred to have his restaurant full of locals instead of tourists. We sat down and were not offered anything to drink. When we were given... More

I can recommend this restaurant for the food- it was outstanding. Our waiter however was a bit abrupt and was most displeased when 3 of our 8 wanted to start with a simple green salad not on the menu (which is usually an easy request in France). He was miffed and very stiff with us even though we ordered several... More

This place was one of the suggestions our host made at our hotel. We walked around and look at the various menus and this one caught our attention. Service was polite, impeccable and efficient, but the foooooood. simply so tasty, the foie gras was moist, flavorfull, the pigeon was tender and tasty, the cheese plater generous and lots of variety.... Turned up without booking a table on a Tuesday evening as this restaurant had great reviews & was near our hotel. Shared a large table with two other couples as the restaurant was full. We had a great time, lovely food, great wine, good company!!!

This is one of 4 or 5 restaurants that are very good in St Emilion, according to my local cook friend. My main dish was duck breasts and it was very good, probably one of the best duck breasts that I had. The snails were cooked in tomato soup (not grilled which I am more used to). I didn't like... Enjoyed 2 meals recently at Le Tertre, located on a steep hill (hence, the name which means steep street). We enjoyed eating on the terrace - watching the people suffer up the hill or down the hill (in high heels). It really is steep. We loved the coq au vin (my husband had it on each evening). The escargots were... More
