It’s like stepping back in time, small diner where all the locals go to have coffee and breakfast, fast and friendly service; had an omelet with a great tasting hash brown casserole. On the way out, we ran into the owners of a local restaurant. They bought us a dozen of those wonderful cookies!!! Needless to say, they didn't last... More

Great food for breakfast or lunch but go early as they are always packed! Superb desserts but our favorite is the gingerbread men. Ordering up a dozen or so tomorrow

I love this little place especially for breakfast. They actually have "grits" and I am a: "transplanted Georgia Peach" and just love a place where I can get a delicious bowl of grits; but you better go early for they usually run out pretty fast. Well you know this area is not much on "grits" but they do know how... More

A decent stop for a summer breakfast. Nothing special but not bad either. No need to drive further when looking for breakfast basics

Breakfast was great. you have to try the cheese biscuits. We were the only ones there not local. They serve breakfast until 1pm. The lunch specials looked good too!

While this restaurant serves lunch and baked goods, I think the best reason to visit is breakfast. The omelets are tasty, the coffee is excellent, and the biscuits are buttery. Portions are generous. The atmosphere is old-school cozy with vinyl tablecloths and mismatched tables. The staff knows all the regulars who come in to talk politics, and they are friendly... More

Food is always good, sometimes the servers are a little out of sorts. Seating is limited, but worth the wait.

Small, bustling, friendly--that's a description of this popular eating place. It seems like everyone knows everyone else. The staff is efficient and helpful. The menu always includes delicious specials and desserts. Definitely worth the stop.

We called ahead and ordered cheese biscuits to go, to be picked up on our way to the ferry. When we arrived, our biscuits were ready and the place was packed! The biscuits were fresh and cheesy. The next time my travels take me to Belhaven, I look forward to further exploring the menu and the ambiance at Gingerbread Bakery.

Best place in town for a good treat. Small city charm with lots of choices. Make sure you try a cookie. The sugar ones are the best.
