The Veranda lives up to the reviews that one reads on Trip Advisor. She crab soup was delicious, hot, with just the right amount of spice. Also tried the squash soup - only regret is that I only ordered a cup, rather than a bowl.

The shrimp corn chowder was good--- maybe a little more shrimp. I really enjoyed the side salad. The muffuletta was quite good. Great spot for lunch! I hear the tomato pie is great( summer) but keep missing it!

Again I trusted my handy dandy Trip Advisor and was not disappointed. My husband and I went here for lunch. They were slammed with a wait. We wrote our name, went to the bathroom, explored their little gift shop, reviewed their soup options for the...More

We ate here again on our recent trip to NC. Have been here many times. The Hungarian Mushroom soup is always excellent. The lines were there even this time of year. We ate out on the porch, not the cleanest place in the world, but...More

We had 2 fabulous soups- Mushroom Marsala and Hungarian Mushroom. Sandwiches were very good, and the marinated black eyed peas were OK. The soups made the meal and were what would draw us back. We were served some funky peach ice tea when we ordered...More

My wife, two young sons, and I had a great visit. The sandwiches were awesome (mufalatta, grilled cheese, club on pretzel bread, etc.). My wife had a bean chili, which was really good too. Fun little cafe atmosphere as well. Was a great place to...More

I had the Country Squash soup and half a turkey cranberry sandwich. Both were fresh and delicious but the soup was the best I have ever had. My husband had the corn chowder and it was great also. Wish I could eat there every day.
