Don't let the strip shopping center or proximity to the movie theater put you off. This hidden gem is worth your time and attention. Unpretentious but creative. Never had a bad meal there whether it was date night or girls night out. Even lunch is tasty. You may need reservations but give it a go. Indoors or out. Enjoy.

We had targeted Joy Bistro as our first stop on Boone's annual "Small Plate Crawl", having never tried their food before. Service was pleasant but a little slow, which the waitress explained by saying that the chef was turning out lots of mini-plates with which he was unfamiliar. My Brussel sprouts with cheese were delicious, and my husband's pork medallions... More

We visit our family home in Boone quite often and always enjoy a meal at Joy Bistro. Their food is always fresh, food is always delicious, and overall experience is superb. Be sure to make a reservation, particularly on weekends, since the restaurant itself is small. Every meal we've ever had has far exceeded our expectations!

I was here for a luncheon with a group and loved the place. The atmosphere is nice, it is small but very comfortable. The restaurant is very clean and the service was excellent and the food was phenomenal. It is a bit pricier, but the quality of food is very good. Don't be swayed by its location as the atmosphere... Don't be put off by the fact that this wonderful little restaurant is in a strip mall. The ambiance inside is romantic and intimate. The food is also some the best in the area! I normally would have given this quaint place a 5 except for two reasons. A dish I almost always ordered was called Black and Blue Chicken.... More

Appetizer, salads, entrees all were excellent. One of the best restaurants in Boone. We eat here for special occasions. Small, can get crowded, reservations strongly recommended.

I know there's a lots of good and even more mediocre and even more bad restaurants out there. As a world traveling, this year alone 180.000 base miles flying around the world. I have to say money/value/quality/taste/service on a consistent base, it's one of the best restaurants I had the fortune to ever visit! Even friends who I took there... More

We eat here quite frequently, and love the shrimp appetizer. We've eaten a variety of meals — the scallops are always good.

We've been going to the Bistro for over 20 years, since the days when it was Sam and Stu's. Under successive management it has consistently been one of the best dinner restaurants in Boone. Very good food, good service, and very pleasant dinning room. But we favor dining out for lunch, and we really appreciate that Joy Bistro is now... More

Small but comfortable, intimate setting, simple décor (plus tasteful Christmas decorations). Friendly servers and a hostess was a worker bee! It was a price fixed menu as it was a holiday. Four courses all had good selections to choose from plus a complimentary champagne. Husband said the pork belly was the best he's ever had. He's not normally a filet... More
