We dined here from Christmas dinner and had a lovely evening. The restaurant is actually under renovation and operating out Kimball's Kitchen which across the street but right on the water. We timed our reservation perfectly and watched the sunset over the water while we enjoyed our dinner. The Christmas menu was prefix but offered 3 to 4 options for... More

We went for dinner on Thanksgiving. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was good, the food was good except for some completely burned root vegetables that should not have been plated. The problem? We were seated at 3, bread arrived just before 4, each course took almost an hour to deliver and we left at 6 without having had dessert-... More

We eat here on our annual family vacation to the Outer Banks. They're able to accommodate our larger extended family group. This restaurant has good atmosphere in neat restored building with nautical memorabilia. Food quality is consistent and is good. Quality of service varies by year, but we will head back

From the moment they came out of the kitchen, I knew they were not fresh. I ate a few in the order and sent them back. The restsurant took off some money and appologized. Wont go back.

Great restaurant.! I was disappointed that the bar did not have a view. I chose to eat at the bar being by myself. Mark the bartenders was very knowledgeable, professional and provide good service. Food was very good and I felt fairly priced. Found the menu to be limited.

Thank you for dining with us. We are actually planning a renovation this off season that will correct your disappointment in the bar's location and views. We hope you will come back to see what we do. More

Staying at Sanderling Resort my partner and I wanted to have dinner close by and we'd already eaten at the fantastic Kimball's Kitchen across the street. We were lucky enough to find a second great restaurant with excellent food at a more mid-range price. Wendy, our server was the perfect person for my girlfriend and I: outgoing, attentive, funny and... More

Haven't been to this place in years although we live 5 miles away. It is part of the Sanderling Resort which is wonderful, pricey but for a special occasion somewhere to consider. This restaurant is not in the main building. If you go there go into the main building and see the genuine Audubon prints and amazing porcelain bird collection.... More

This immaculate restored Coast Guard station is a cool place to dine! We went in for breakfast and waited and waited for service. Our server apologized gave us water and we waited and waited for her to return and take our order. Our food was good but slow lackadaisical service detracted from the experience. It was not inexpensive. The whole... More

Consistent, reliable, accessible and good quality! Servers were always smiling... We ate breakfast there as part of the Sanderlings package.... Never a concern with food.... If you love breakfast, eat here...

Located in the original—and splendidly restored—Caffey’s Inlet Life Saving Station No. 5, the Lifesaving Station is a casual, three-meal-a-day restaurant celebrating southern coastal cuisine and regional, organic products. New with the renovations is a spacious outside seating deck and large fireplace. Known for its “best breakfast on the Outer Banks” and a-la-carte Sunday brunch, the Lifesaving Station is a favorite Duck, N.C. restaurant choice for both locals and vacationers. And be sure the try the Lifesaving Station’s famous Carolina BBQ Sampler and Spring Mountain Farms Buttermilk Fried Chicken, always on the menu. The Lifesaving Station maintains an impressive wine list. Local breweries are featured while specialty cocktails feature coastal “house cocktails” and bourbons. Upstairs, the renovated No. 5 offers sweeping views of the Currituck Sound. The relaxed atmosphere is conducive to catching the game and enjoying quality cuisine.
