Have been here several times for brunch with family that we thoroughly enjoyed, so I was interested to try their dinner. It surpassed my expectations- I had a pork special that was tender, succulent and very flavorful. Asparagus and rice were wonderfully flavorful accompaniments. Relaxed, congenial and enthusiastic service added to the enjoyment!

Durham is a city that is blessed with a plethora of great restaurants. Watts Grocery is a gem that adds to this bounty. The food is locally sourced so the menu varies which part of the charm. Our recent meal was outstanding. I recommend the fried oysters for a start, crispy while still being plump and juicy. What more can... More

Been to Watts several times now. First time we've made it for Sunday brunch. Chef has a great range of choices on the menu. My wife had the Cobb salad with fried shrimp and I had the Grillades with Grits. Both were superb! Order of churros to along with some Watt's Bloody Marys. Pefect meal! Service staff were attentive and... More

New years day with friends. Fried pork belly with collards and fried black Eyed peas. Scallops with creamed cauliflower, pork chop with black eyed peas, fried catfish filet with succotash. All outstanding and properly seasoned. Hidden gem in Durham.

This was the first time in many years we've dined here; it's not close to home, but it is certainly worth the drive! I'm adding a picture of the scallops dish I ordered; served with roasted Brussel sprouts and served atop smashed and partially creamed cauliflower. Wonderful combination for a meal! Perfectly prepared portions and wonderfully displayed. Hubs ordered a... More

It was awesome. The catering company which is part of Watts Grocery cooked our thanksgiving meal, from the turkey to stuffing, gravy, soup, corned ham, cornbread... Outstanding job. The turkey the most moist and tender, I could not have done it better myself. We picked it up on Wednesday to serve on Thursday and Tammy told me it would be... More

Don't let the name confuse you. This is a very good restaurant not a market cafe. The staff was professional and attentive. The wine list and menu were varied enough to satisfy all palettes. The atmosphere which was casual provided us the opportunity to relax, have family conversation and enjoy our freshly prepared meals and adult beverages. A good time... More

Whether you order soup, quiche, a sandwich or a full entrée you'll be delighted with what you order. Sunday brunch is also a MUST!

Watts Grocery was a welcome surprise. Not long before closing hours we found Watts Grocery with its artsy setting, interesting menu, nice wine list, and professional service. Four of us shared around the table, with the hits being the light-as-a feather shrimp fritters, clams with chorizo in a perfectly spicy broth, and rich and tasty mac and cheese. A grilled... More
