Running late as usual and needed to feed the kids we just happened to be close to Japan Express. I don't think anyone working was even Asian but we found a pleasant and affordable lunch spot. Kid's meals $5.49 chicken, $5.99 for shrimp included a drink, a large plate of fried or white rice topped with freshly grilled chicken and... More

Nearly hidden just beside Kohls, I decided to try this little strip mall place out. They have hibachi - a great stir fry dish with meat (or not) and veggies. What makes it hibachi in my mind is the white sauce you slather in after. It is Saturday night and this place is rockin' busy. It is counter service (order... More

If you enjoy a fairly quick lunch or supper, nothing fancy, this is a good place to eat. There isn't lots of dining space, but they do have a few tables and in good weather, you can eat outside. I have found most of their foods okay. I am picky so don't eat certain foods. But I do like spicy... More

Busy at lunch everyday.... One indicator that the food is good! Service average, not very friendly when taking order. However the food was good. We had soba noodles with chicken and hibachi shrimp and chicken. Spring roll was very tasty but had to ask at the counter for hot mustard and soy sauce to go with it. They also offer... More

My husband and I tried this restaurant while craving japanese food and we were delighted that we made the right choice!!! It was exactly what I my taste buds were looking for!!! While its on the end of a plaza strip we were a bit hesitant but the flow of customers made us realize that the taste must be pretty... More

The food is consitantly good. I've never had a bad meal. I love the ginger dressing. Entree salad and drink is $9. It's enough food that me and my sister split it. Cooked fresh and restaurant is extra clean.

Hibachi is probably my favorite food and this place offered the standard fare of it. They served it with 2 large mounds of rice and you can get white or ginger sauce to add to it. The hibachi tasted okay, nothing special. I got a combo with a spring roll and it was delicately light and flavorful. They have small... More

We were hungry and tried this place for the first time. The chicken wings were not very good and lacked taste and presentation. I believe they were overcooked. The tables, seating area, and floor were not clean. The place was empty while other businesses around were bustling. The service was underwhelming as we were one of only two tables but... More

NJE is by far the best quick service Japanese in the Garner area. What I think make it so good is 1) the RICE- it has an awesome flavor and 'stickyness' 2) their white sauce is not watered down like a lot of places and 3) the service is fast and friendly!!!
