We stopped here for lunch on Tuesday afternoon, just picking a place at random as we drove North from seeing family. Pulled pork BBQ was tender and delicious with a nice vinegar burn. Great slaw, distinct potato salad with mustard. Had a bowl of Brunswick stew as well: chunks of vegetables, strips of pulled chicken. Wonderful banana pudding for dessert.... More

Wilber's BBQ is a local tradition. After establishing Wilber's to be one of eastern NC's favorite stops on the way to the beach, Mr. Wilber Shirley has enjoyed many years as a BBQ restaurant entrepreneur. Food quality and taste is sometimes hit and miss but when it is right, it promises to be some of the best you will eat.

Enjoyed our Sunday afternoon lunch at Wilber's. We were seated and served very quickly. The service was great. The BBQ plates were delicious!!! Will be going back again for sure!

I went here when I was a kid. I would rake leaves in the summer or cur grass. I would ask Mom or Dad to take me. I would buy them something too because I wanted to be good to them as they were to me. I am an adult now and moved out of State. No matter where I... More

Visiting family for Christmas.l we decided to eat lunch here. I lived in NC for 8yrs and haven't been back in 7yrs. Definitely missed Eastern NC BBQ. This was very good & flavorful. The slaw and hushpuppies also good I would definitely recommend. The fried gizzards also were good, lightly breaded and seasoned well. Service is not great and it... More

People rave about Wilburs but in my opinion there are several better places to go in the area. The menu choices are slim. They only offer pork and chicken. The BBQ sauce is Carolina style but it's not even good. The coleslaw was minced into tiny pieces and flavorless. I wouldn't bother and don't know why people like it.

I recently returned to Wilber's after 10 years absence. The food is still delicious. I ordered a barbecue and brunswick stew combo plate. Wilber's barbecue is outstanding. The brunswick stew tasted authentically delicious although it looked chunkier, more rustic than others that I have tasted. My friend ordered fried chicken livers. They were fantastic with a light batter outside and... More

Plenty of meat on your sandwich. The service is acceptable but could be better. Nothing really sets them apart from the rest. It is a matter of preference.

I had the special, pork BBQ sandwich, fries, and a Coke. Awesome Carolina flavors, quaint atmosphere (probably hadn't changed in 20yrs). We ordered the hush puppies for a starter, they are out of this world. I probably ate too many of those. My wife enjoyed her southern fried chicken. A nice stop

Oh how I love stopping here on my way to the beach. Stepping back in time to the days when there were no fast food chains and the only restaurants in Eastern NC were pork bbq, seafood and hamburger joints. Restaurant atmosphere was not what was important, it's the feeling of being welcome, being comfortable, good service, plenty of food... More
