My husband and I stopped for dinner. I got pulled chicken and he got brisket. The chicken was a bit dry, but the brisket was well worth the stop. The beans are also very good. I know beans, but have not had any that even compare. Definitely worth a stop! Plus the folks who work there are so friendly and... More

My family has been visiting Corolla, NC for the past 32 years. While we typically cook at our home all week when we are there, we like to try lots of local places. I was planning my wedding in June 2016, and was familiar with a few BBQ places down there, when I came across High Cotton. Although we have... More

We decided to have lunch here since there off season hours were limited. We both got the fried chicken platter and we were not disappointed. We had eaten the BBQ pork here before so we knew the food was good, but weren't sure about fried chicken in s BBQ place. It was the best tasting chicken we had had anywhere... More

Family oriented and good portions. Takes time to personlize the visit. Good NC welcome feel. Has nice NC gifts prepackaged. Would recommend.

Had to go back for more the next day! My only suggestion is to incorporate some Carolina Microbrews!

Visited this summer, just getting to writing my review now. The BBQ was good but we were expecting out of this world. We waited at least a half hour to be seated so they really to pull in a crowd. What impressed me most was the team work of the waitstaff. Those kids really pulled together to make sure all... More

We went to High Cotton while visiting the Outer Banks during Thanksgiving. We thought the food was great! Some of the best BBQ and selection for sides on the OBX. Quick service, great prices and friendly staff. We'll definitely be back!

Cool name, awesome atmosphere & great folks. The food was fantastic. Some of the best chicken I've ever eaten. I'm from eastern NC so the BBQ was not like I'm used to, but it wasn't bad. Went with friends and will return with family. Bought my daughter a cool High Cotton T-shirt too.

Food was awesome but the service was poor. If your server seems like they don't want you there perhaps you should dine elsewhere. Duly noted.

Authentic. Simple. Delicious. High Cotton Barbeque has been well-known on the Outer Banks for over 10 years for their Eastern North Carolina Style Barbeque, Famous Fried or Slow Smoked Juicy Chicken, Melt in Your Mouth Ribs and Texas-style Beef Brisket. As Tarheel natives we want to share the flavors and aromas unique to Eastern North Carolina Barbeque. Consistent temperatures and long hours of smoking with hickory coals produce the characteristic pink coloring and sweet outside brown meat of our famous pork barbeque. Combined with our traditional side dishes and a glass of sweet tea and you're in High Cotton, Outer Banks Barbeque at its very best.
