My first visit after hearing about it for years. Sorry I waited so long. The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff and guests were so friendly and the food was outstanding. A wonderful experience and I've already made reservations to go again. Fabulous.

I wish I had discovered this place sooner. The lodge is at the end of long a winding mountain road overlooking Maggie Valley. It's definitely very rustic and absolutely charming. The buildings are authentic and are not new so it explains the spartan comfort. It's not for people who are interested in comfort and luxury but for those who prefer... More

This was one of the best meal experiences I've had! It wasn't just the meal, it was the ambiance and the company, and the cozy setting. It was like having a group of strangers gather around for a big Sunday dinner at my Grandma's house, and leave feeling almost like family. It was so relaxing and laid back to pass... More

We go to Smokey shadows with a large group of friends and family. Every time Ginger goes above and beyond for us. The tomato pie is fantastic. Best ever. Thanks for your mountain hospitality.

We enjoy this place when we have guests in town, especially on a Sunday when most other places are closed. Nice menu and the wait stff is very helpful.

Smoky Shadows Lodge is a hidden gem high over Maggie Valley, NC.The lounge and dining room are large and rustic. The guest rooms are comfortable. Each has a private bathroom and some provide scenic views of the magnificant Smokies in the Southern Appalachian range. But even if you don't overnight there, do yourself a favor and arrange to be there... More

My wife and I + 2 dogs lodged comfortably in one of two SSL cabins on Easter weekend. Owners Ginger & Bud and their daughter Tracy could not have been more helpful and friendly. Ginger, Tracy and staff prepared and hosted a remarkable Easter dinner for what became a party of 20 of our family members and friends. My wife... More
