We were visiting Raleigh for the weekend and decided to try several restaurants that we don't have back home. I've heard several friends and coworkers mention how great this place is. The food really was delicious. I had pulled pork with Mac and cheese and okra, my husband had turkey with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. Pulled pork was... More

You must get the chopped barbecue. It's so amazing and it doesn't even need sauce. Sides and desert were also blissful. Last but definitely not least, the staff was attentive and kind. Don't be fooled by how nice the decor is, perfect for a client lunch, it's some of the best barbecue I've ever had. Enjoy...

I've been to The Pit at least half a dozen times and never been disappointed. I usually get fried chicken and mac-n-cheese, but everything looks good here. Just good Southern fare. Translation: delicious, and I hope they have a defibrillator in the building.

The Bbq was very good and the sides were delicious. They have sauces for both eastern nc style (vinegar base) and western style (tomato base). Both sauces were good - I am a NC native and prefer the eastern. However both of these sauces were good enough that I would chose both in different bites. The desserts looked good, but... More

The food here is great. I got their version of a Brunswick stew and it was amazing. I have to say a while ago I order the brisket and I was dissapointed on the amount of meat and how fatty it was. Everyone else seemed to love what they ordered. Overall the food is very good.

This menu is really good and has so many good choices that it's hard to narrow it down. The sides are incredible and are classic Southern - creamed corn, fried okra, Brunswick stew, candied yams, and much more. The BBQ is lean and seasoned very nicely. They offer several options of flavors. They bring you a basket full of fluffy... More

Everybody we came in contact with was pleasant, helpful and caring. The food was great, plenty of options for kids. We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely go back when in Raleigh.

Food was great and service was even better. Pulled pork with baked beans and sprouts. Weather was so nice I sat outside. Great place to watch the world do their thing.
