This is a good place to eat sushi in downtown Raleigh. I've been to other sushi restaurants in that area and none compare to Sono. Be aware it's a little pricier than your average sushi restaurant. This is more upscale. "Dressing up" is not required, but I would advise it.

While the atmosphere is nice, and it's location very convenient for Downtown activities, it's just not that good. The food was mediocre, same for their cocktails. Staff was attentive. Overall, better lunch place than dinner.

The sushi was great! Our friend with us who wasn't a big sushi fan even loved her shrimp tempura roll.

We were a party of 3 and went to Sono for a quick lunch as it was 3-4 blocks away from our hotel. We sat at the sushi bar and for about 15 minutes before our waiter realized we were. This was surprising because he passed by numerous times. Other than this hiccup, the food was the best we have... More

As long as I know, they provide very good tonkotsu ramen in us. I had expected some sort of American ramen, but it is not true. Tonkotsu soup is very mild and gentle, with matured dashi tast. Men is served sufficiently enough as a main dish with thick cha-syu. You can try and enjoy it.

Very good mix of traditional and creative offerings, all well executed and top quality. Service at bar was a bit slow and inattentive.

The screaming O roll was delicious. They had so many options, I wish I could have tried more. My friend had the surf and turf roll, very good if your not into fish . Local beers and close to the convention center

I was here recently while visiting my son and I am so glad it was recommended to us! Sono was only a block or two from our hotel, so it was a great location. We only had to wait at most 15 minutes on a Saturday night. I got the volcano sushi and it was so rich and delicious! My... More
