First time at this restaurant but not Ashleys other establishments,Agreat selection of craft beers, bottle and tap.The mac and cheese is one of the best I've tasted,a single serving will do for 4 as an appy.our party had pork shank, short rib and a fabulous entree called RABBIT SLICK,sort of a stew,I highly recommend it

I couldn't wait to try Poole's Diner to taste Ashley Christensen's famous fare, which I would have to rate only fair, at best. The long wait was expected, but the food was certainly not worth it. The menu was very limited and they had already run out of one of the specials by the time we were seated. The mac... More

Poole's diner has a wonderful atmosphere, the attentive service was the best I've seen in a long while and the food selection was unusual and was very good. If you order the mac and cheese as a side, plan to share it.

Date night and dinner before a play. Got here early enough to get a seat right away (not a big place; plan out your arrival). What a great place! Server took drink orders right away - very good beer and wine selection. Anyone who serves Mother Earth Silent Night has my vote. Started out with their Pimento cheese appetizer. Excellent.... More

Wonderful dinner last night for our first visit to this restaurant. Arrived at 5pm for 5:30 seating and got first table. Started by sharing the beet/prosciutto salad, then I had the most wonderful herbed chicken dish that was so moist and flavorful. Hubby had the pork shank which he declared the best he'd ever had. Cauliflower side dish was really... More

We dined here on a week night and arrived early. Apparently, it is busy every night. Service is good, menu options change frequently and are interesting. Not much choice for a vegetarian, but the mac and cheese is popular and a huge serving. Could be shared with a salad. We both ordered bass whch was delicious...small portions and vegetables that... If in Raleigh, you must eat here. Just the best food. Be ready to wait, no reservations. Also crowded and noisy, but worth it.

Went there on a recommendation of a friend. So we missed the place driving by. It is very unassuming. We did find it, thank goodness. My wife had the mussels with a fresh baguette and I had the crispy pork shoulder with butternut squash grits and pepino seeds. One word for both. PHENOMENAL. The menu does change on a regular... Our visit had to be one of the most fun dinner experience we have had. First, you have to step out on a limb if you are one of those diners that have to have their own table. SIT AT THE BAR! We had exceptional service. We met the people sitting next to us on both sides. We even shared... More
