Riverview is a small place. But it's a great find. It's the first place I ate before moving to sneads ferry. It is very casual. A good sized menu and ALWAYS has fresh catch and specials. The hush puppies are awesome. Prices are great! We love to go here when we are just feeling like a quiet in and out... More

This restaurant has the best catfish I have ever tasted. There was no fishy taste whatsoever. It was light and buttery and delicious. The french fries were terrible, but the coleslaw and hushpuppies were quite good. Now for the tartar sauce. It was terrible. It has way too much dill. Luckily for me, the fish was so good on its... local seafood joint that's in a small eastern NC river town....the fish is fresh and cooked the old way...deeply battered and fried. The fish is fresh but the veggies aren't.

Stopped in for lunch, I came for the seafood. Love their fried flounder and fried shrimp.Got a nice piece of flounder and 11 big fried shrimp, not little popcorn shrimp. Hot out of the grease. You also get 2 sides and hushpuppies. I got squash casserole and slaw. Carrot cake was the dessert today with the lunch special. Will be... More

We were driving to North Topsail Beach and I wanted fresh seafood for lunch. I read the reviews for the Riverview Café and even though it was out of our way, was hooked when I read the locals eat there. Don't let the location stop you! Follow your GPS and it'll take you right to the door. We arrived around... More

The hush puppies were delicious. I should have just eaten hush puppies, they were so good. Slaw was ok, fries were really fried, fried tilapia was alright. Having never been here we didn't realize that the server wouldn't come by and ask if we wanted dessert. We waited a very long time and then finally got her attention. Anyway, those... More

We try to get to Riverview at least once on a trip of more than a few days. During the week they have a lunch special that also includes some sort of dessert, for around $7.00.

Beaching it? Doing the North Topsail / Surf City thang? Need a break from the same-same? Take a trip back into the old school part of Snead's Ferry, to the Riverview. After a day of kayaking around Permuda Island Reserve in Stump Sound, working up and appetite, we headed for the Riverview upon the recommendation of the guy who rented... More

My Marines at Court House Bay told me the best restaurant for authentic fresh food in the area was Riverview Café. I kind of knew when I saw the sheriff's car parked out front along with many other local plates that this was a hometown favorite. I was blown away by the scallops. Great flavor and texture. Good quantity too.... More
