It isn't right on Front Street but it is still right in the heart of Downtown! The restaurant isn't huge so on the weekends you may have a wait but it is worth it for the burger! Prices are great and have never had a bad meal there! Highly recommend visiting the Copper Penny!

We were there on a Saturday and the place was packed...in spite of the crowd, service was good and portions were large. I am gluten free and they don't have a menu but I had a good salad. We sat in the front near the door and it was very noisy and tables were tight. In a return visit, I'd... More

My go-to meal at any restaurant used to be chicken tenders or boneless wings and fries, so that's what I had here and they were SO good. The building was pretty small and a tight fit in some areas, but it had a cool vibe. I just loved knowing that I was in an old bank building. Totally recommend this... More

We love this place. The food is very good. However, I will say that I am not a fan of the chili. It's nontraditional, made with shredded beef instead of ground beef. First time I ate here it didn't agree with my palate nor my stomach. However, like at any restaurant this is something one person can hate and another... More

Had a late lunch with some friends. There were several people and everyone enjoyed their food except one person. The place constantly had people coming in and I don't think any table was empty during the 2 hours or more that we were there. Food: My friend had fried sweet potatoes (in the form of French fries) with brown sugar... More

I never even considered The Copper Penny till a friend recommended it. We went with a friend we hadn't seen in years and had a great time. The food was really good and the staff very friendly. They didn't rush us even when it got busy. We had so much fun. I would not recommend children at night but lunch... More

Ordered the fish n chips. Fish was fresh and cooked properly. Homemade tartar and dressings. The fries were fabulous and hand cut. It was crazy busy for lunch but we were seated within a few minutes and the food came out pretty quickly.

Wilmington NC has many excellent places to eat. There are great restaurants with amazing food, interesting food, fresh and high quality food. There are also restaurants with amazing views of the Cape Fear river, the intercostal waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. All of those appeal to me. My big disclaimer is that I am NOT a sports bar fan. One... More

Good food and good environment. Crowded on Sundays during football. But most of the time yu can walk in and get a table. They also have a few tables outside which are nice.
