The Walrus appears to be a "hole in the wall" type place when you first walk in, but the menu is unique and the food is excellent. One downside is that it is very crowded - too many tables for the floor space, making it hard for the servers to get around and a little uncomfortable for the patrons. The... More

I was just here last week for lunch, and--as usual--had a decent meal (pizza and salad) with nice service. 'Twas a great value (11 bucks, I think) and I'll definitely be back. :)

Saw a promo on a local tv channel for seafood pasta. It looked good, but after tasting, it was rather bland, told the waitress and she said ok.

Visited with NDDOT friends for lunch on a cold day - very attentive service (v. prompt on the refills) plus good food all round - I would return.

Diablo Shrimp was not bad...over peppers but still good.. Atmosphere was dark until 20 mins in someone brightened the dimmer. Waitress was non-exsistent for about 40 mins...had to drink my wife's water due to thirst. Hawaiian soup should be removed from the menu indefinitely. Crab cakes ought not to be a signature item. this is North Dakota...other than the shrimp,... More

How can you pass up a restaurant named The Walrus? Well, when it's this good, this friendly, this vibrant, you can't. The Walrus has been here for at least 30 years. It's currently owned by a former server and the chef has a cooking show on the local television station. Our server made us feel like we were old friends... More

This is an outwardly unassuming restaurant on 3rd Street in Bismarck, that doesn't seem to be in the usual restaurant locale. In fact, it's in a strip mall next to a grocery store. But, this place is unbelievable! Awesome beer and wine selection, wonderful food (so many different things--steaks, pastas, pizza, fish and more) all expertly prepared and beautifully served.... Okay first off this is the first time we ever went here since moving here 20 years ago. We have heard a few good things over the years so we thought let's try it. The location is odd, it being in a weird mini-mall type setting. Long skinny building with not a lot of room. Wait staff was very good.... More
