The food was really good but a little expensive for what you get. The booths were chilly. I had to wear my coat the whole time we were there. Service was good, but there were not very many people eating for a Saturday dinner. I would like to go back for the lunch buffet. If you are not familiar with... More

This place introduced me to indian food. (It was actually the previous owners) Whenever I travel around the country I am trying indian food and this place is always the best, hands down. I have tried the other places in Fargo and Moorhead and they are alright, but Passage to India will always be THE best!!!

We went to dinner here on a whim. We were all impressed. Service was great and very helpful when asking about beer suggestions. Naan was fantastic and pairs well with all dishes. We will definitely return!

My daughter brought us here for lunch. I was not sure what to expect being and old Scandinavian guy. I was surprised to find they had a buffet. It was nice to be able to try different kinds of Indian food. I tried a variety and liked all of it. There were a couple spicy items, so start with small... More

This is mine and my husbands go to. I was very nervous about trying Indian food, however I was blown away. The spices and flavors dance in your mouth and keep you wanting more. I always go for the lunch buffet which always has a huge selection and if I'm in a hurry I get the buffet to go! Seriously... More

Thanks so much for your review, Meredith! The fact that we are your favorite restaurant in Fargo humbles us extremely. :) I know it might be hard to pick but what's your favorite item on the menu? More

That's what it felt like. Cafe style seating, bright fluorescent lighting and the iconic Indian version of Music Channel in the TV and blasting in the background. Ordered veg curry, chick tikka and naan. Curry was the California veg medley add cauliflower. Heavy garlic flavor and runny like a broth soup. The chick was red and flavorless. Naan doughy and... This is the best restaurant (especially Friday- Sunday lunch buffet) in Fargo. The foods are super fresh and TRULY Indian! In fact, my wife and I travelled to various parts of USA- except for some restaurants in Jackson Heights, NY - we cannot find such a good Indian restaurant anywhere else (not even in big cities like Chicago, LA, Houston,... While on a road trip, it's not always easy to find tasty food. My husband loves spicy food so the spicy shrimp dish sure hit the spot. The samosas were fair, maybe a little dry. We were happy with the rest of our meal. If you like international cuisine, I recommend this place.

We sincerely appreciate y'all taking the time to stop by our restaurant! Next time we recommend you to try having the chutneys with the samosas to make it blend a little better. :) More

What a great find. We were excited to learn that they offer a buffet, what a great way to experience Indian food. We loved Indian food so what not experience a little bit of what is offered. The Naan was amazing. The vegetarian options were reasonable. The Staff was great.

Thank you so much for your review, Alison! The buffet is great, but do try out more formal A la Carte dinner. Also, Alison if you liked our butter naan served at our buffet do try our garlic naan next time. More

Passage to India opened in August 2005 and is located inside the Westfield Strip Mall Fargo. Since then, Chef Alham Ali, Chef Birkha Moger, and Chef Sam Rangaswamy have been serving both quality interpretations of classic dishes and daring new ventures to suit the Midwestern palate. Passage to India's interior, as recently remodeled, reflects the urban sensibilities of Fargo's growth while also paying tribute to India's storied past and culture. The restaurant features a daily lunch buffet with over 20 options including a cold bar, vegetarian dishes, and non-vegetarian dishes (highly recommended for first-timers). Following lunch, the restaurant serves full service a La Carte up till close at 9:30p.
