I came in last Friday night with friends and was amazed with how the place has changed! Was recommended by a family member. The food was delicious. I had the steak pie, However the plate was too hot to begin with. Heard mixed reviews about the service but I found it great! 2 girls around the age of 16 both... More

First visit since the refurb, booked a table at 7.30pm and arrived at 7pm to take in the atmosphere as we had heard the place buzzed. Ordered drinks and we were asked if we wanted to go to the table, despite saying we were quite happy having a drink first we were repeatedly asked whether we wanted to go to... More

This place was so great that I didn't even get out of the door before I had trip advisor open to leave them a review! The food was perfect! The atmosphere was lovely and the place in its self was just beautiful! The staff were friendly and professional! The food wasn't too long to come out and was perfect portions... More

Called in last Friday with friends to try out the new pub and menu. It was good to see the place packed on a Friday night, although those with hearing problems may struggle to hear conversation. This is a pub, with some dining- emphasised by the great range of Yorkshire ales on tap. Consequently the menu is limited. There should... More

The food was very good and the atmosphere was great, we had some starters to share and I had a very nice stake and ale pie, the others had a good looking fish and chips, it was nice to have mash i with the pie and big cut chips. The cheese cake was to die for, overall a very good lunch... More

What A Superb Time! After enjoying a lunch here last Christmas we felt confident enough to book Helen's birthday party for 10 that included 3 under 3 year olds. What a great decision. It was busy but we didn't know it because there was plenty of great staff all keen to help and as a result we didn't feel any... More

Morning StCrispian, It's fantastic to hear you had such a good time on Sunday, especially as it was a birthday celebration. The children were amazingly behaved and the staff enjoyed serving your party and it seems that came across in their work. It sounds like you feel you got quality as well as good value and that is our aim.... More

Well, this dining pub has certainly got it right. We visited back in the days before renovation and new management and found things quite disappointing. Not so now! On a practical note, the car park is about 100 yards along the lane at the side of the pub but if you need to be nearer on-street parking is also adopted.... More

Morning Clive, To hear you think we're getting it right has made our day. Supporting local food suppliers like Gawthorpes is very important to us and to see that's getting noticed by customers is excellent. You ate most of our core dishes and to see you enjoyed them is brilliant. We've worked hard on the service we offer and it... More

This pub is unrecognisable from the old very basic drinking pub it used to be. Now a nicely decked out gastro pub look. Very smart and nicely done. Their appeared to be a more mature lady around to keep an eye on 'the kids' serving on. We asked for G&T's and the waitress could only think of 2 or 3... More

We have visited several times since it re-opened, sometimes to eat, sometimes just for a drink. It is excellent. Firstly, though, remember that it's a pub that serves good food, not a restaurant and judge it accordingly. The beer is first-class both in quality and price, remarkably so for such a venue. The food is superior pub food, mainly served... More

Hi Andy, Thank you for your review, it's most appreciated. It's fantastic to hear that you'd recommend The Dunkirk to others and that your experience was so enjoyable. It's also a good point you make about it being a pub and not a restaurant and one which we would reiterate. We hope to see you again soon. Holly More

First visit this weekend with friends. Will be back. Ambiance, decor and especially the food were excellent. Lots of staff to look after you and nothing was too much trouble. We were in a large party of 17 and it didn't seem to phase the kitchen at all....we didn't have to pre-order (which sometimes we've had to in other establishments).... More
