The Tom Yuk soup is good but the other ‘classics’ are very poor.

Our food was delivered in good time (we live 5 mins drive away)and the starter, Tom Yum soup, was tasty so would recommend that. However the two main meals were really bad. The spicy Thai curry was a lightly flavoured water with dried out chicken bits and the pad thai was an anaemic-looking flavourless dish with scraps of veg. Not good value for money at all.

Really average food.

Really average food. Ok, small ish portions, completely underwhelming. Nice atmosphere, service was pretty slow. Have to say having a bill in the hundreds of pounds, and being asked to pay for another bowl of prawn crackers was too much. I did pass comment on this, but got no response.

We have visited Just Thai many, many times but always just the restaurant up until two weeks ago when the COVID-19 lock down came in. We have now used their delivery service a couple of times in the last week and the food has been every bit as good as the food we have had in the restaurant. On top of that, despite everything that has gone off the staff and overall service have been amazing!!!!! Thanks you so much everyone! We plan to continue supporting local businesses as much as we can....as we need all of you to pull through this current situation!! Thanks again, Tom & Neilson

Overpriced terrible Thai food

This is the worst Thai food I’ve eaten. Chicken satay starter was tiny skewers of cold, dry chicken resembling buffet leftovers. King prawn main dish prompted a battle to get 6 mushy (probably defrosted) prawns out of their shells, 3 green beans and 2 pieces of carrot in an admittedly tasty sauce! The vegetarian fayre was pak Choi in a hot chilli sauce, and a fairly bog standard Thai curry of similarly small size. Total bill for 2, including 4 glasses of wine, was £73. The place was clean, well presented and service polite but without decent food there’s no reason to go!

I do not make a habit of leaving negative reviews, however, after leaving it a few days, I still do not feel it was dealt with appropriately. Very disappointing end to what had been a lovely evening with friends. At the time of booking, the only available time was 5.15pm. For a large proportion of the time, we were the only ones in the restaurant. We were offered drinks pretty swiftly and then food orders were taken. Starters were delicious and didn’t take too long. There was then a considerable wait for the main dishes (odd considering we were the only ones in!) which were also lovely. The plates were then cleared but at no point were we offered a dessert menu. We were enjoying drinks so was not too aware but then asked for a menu and was told there was no time for them as we only had the table for 2 hours. At this point it was shortly before 7. Had we been offered desserts when the mains were cleared we would have had plenty of time. My partner went to the bar to discuss out of the main room but was met with nothing other than “when the table was booked, it said you had 2 hours”… yes, correct, however that wasn’t really the issue. With the slow service rate, 2 hours does not allow customers (at least not a table of 5) to have a three course meal. We spent nearly £200 and didn’t even get an apology, we were practically ushered out of the door, making us feel very awkward. This is our third visit in as many weeks as we have enjoyed it so much previously and been with different friends each time. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning purely due to the attitude of the (presumably) manager. Had we been offered an explanation or apology, or a genuine response and acknowledgment, I would not have left this review. However, I would not want other people to experience the same.

I ordered a red curry, stir fry vegetables, spring rolls (only got 4 small for £5.90) & noodles and was very disappointed...carrots were brown, noodles sweet & soggy & even my boys wouldn't eat noodles. It came up to £25 for collection after discount and we didn't get any rice!

average food the makes you ill and poor waiting times with a sniffy old man server

I am not one to usually give one star to restaurants as I have worked in one and understand the pressures involved in working there. That said, I was violently ill as soon as I got home; the food was good, but the pork wasn't cooked thoroughly enough to avoid the heavy flow of sick coming from my nose and mouth. The wait time was about 50 mins; I was diligent and noticed the older man picking up the phone and quoting the customer on the other end that the same dish I had already been waiting 30 mins for (the PAg this) would be ready within 15 mins. I still did not receive my food for another twenty minutes. By that point, my starter, which made me ill - had stopped my appetite, and by the time my page had come out, i was no longer hungry. I was waiting as my mum ate her food, disappointed that I hadn't even touched mine. The whole time we were right next to the car and kitchen, my body was very much facing them as to elude to the question, "Is everything alright?" but no took no such interest as to why I had not touched my meal. To top off the epic fail, when my mum asked for the bill, there were no reductions for the time it took to get our food, being met with a snarky comment from the old man saying, "50 minutes isn't that long". Not even a bloody apology! I had high hopes of coming here after a lovely day hiking in Holmstead/Holmfirth. We seemed treated differently from other customers, which made me quite sad. I digress. It will not ruin our holiday. Overall, Yorkshire is one of the best places I've been home and abroad, and the locals have been so loverly :) The young lad that was serving some of the time did create an excellent report to be with but could be a little more helpful and aware. But he seemed nice and was the best part of being there; I hope he does well. The old thing can scoop the sick out of my toilet... lol.

Expensive , over rated and small portions

After looking forward to a Thai for over a month now finally got round to ordering one .. ordered a chicken pad Thai , pork and Talay yang skewers , the portions were so small that we are now having to order a pizza , the food was average and silly expensive for what we got . I do not mind paying for nice food however this wasn’t worth it . Will not be retuning here very disappointed

Food great - time management very poor

Experience spoilt by long delay between starter and main. Clearly lots of take always being attended to. Feedback not really accepted although 10% deducted. It’s a shame because the food was nice, the staff attentive but they don’t seem to have the capacity for what they are trying to do and just expect customers to put up with it.

Dear Madam, I do apologise for your experience I did explain to you in restaurant on the night you visited us and also explained to you on Togo booking system which you left review. We are trying our best to serve and make our customers happy. I checked on our work sheet, you are booked a table at 8.30 you arrived at 8.32 and ordered at 8.55 starter arrived a couple minutes after then my staff cleared table at 9.28 your table been set at 9.55 ready for your main course which arrived at 10 pm. Saturday night is a busy night we got the system to work out not to make all customers feel like we are rushing for service. I do apologise again for your experience with us. Kind regards.

Super staff, a brilliant kitchen, top class Thai food and friendly owner who's happy to chat about his experiences of running this super restaurant. I can't really add much more other than our highest recommendation 👍

Came back to Just Thai for the first time post Covid. This is a lovely restaurant with very attentive staff who work hard to ensure that you enjoy your food and drink. Apart from the food being top class, we were also struck by the reasonably priced selection of beers and wines. Thanks for a wonderful evening!

Inedible microwave meal

Gone down hill, we have been ordering take away from here over a year now on a regular basis but lately the food has been average at Best! But the last take away we ordered was totally inedible very over salted and I probably like my food more on the salty side! Rang to complain and was told by the manager “ar lass made it last night I will let her know” The only thing we can do is offer you a discount! They won’t be a next time after that. I can’t believe they just microwave your food it’s supposed to be a restaurant! I’m sure if you told all your customers your food will be lovingly prepared by our microwave tonight they would walk straight out of the door!

Do not go, Arrogant manager and snail pace service

Don’t go here, Booked a table for 7pm arrived @ 6:45 thinking ok we could get a drink Was shown to our table and waited to be asked what we would like to drink, 7pm a waitress asked if we would like drinks, we ordered and a couple of minutes later drinks arrived, we thought they might have taken our food order 7:15 we had to ask if we could order food, bear in mind the restaurant wasn’t busy We then waited over 30 minutes before the wife asked the manager how long before the starters would arrive, to be told by the rudest arrogant manager I have yet to meet saying you didn’t order until 7:15 the kitchen has just started cooking them, I then asked if the mains would take so long, he replied “” just pay for your drinks and f@#k off Needless to say we got up to leave to be told “have the drinks on us and f@%k off I would have accepted a wait if the restaurant had been busy, but It wasn’t Anyone visiting here be prepared to be disappointed I will be very surprised if this restaurant is open in 6 months time

A firm favourite for us

This was the latest of several visits for us but I felt it worthy of another review given yet another terrific night. The veggie choice for the wife is second to none and the the rest of the menu offers something that little bit different but always tasty and full of flavour. Service is friendly and never rushed and, oh, that air conditioning last night when outside temperatures were unbearable. All told, a great ambience and another really enjoyable evening.

Everything was beautiful and cooked perfectly. Service was fab, I booked the wrong night but we were there at 6.20pm and luckily they were accommodating and squeezed us in. No complaints what so ever. We ordered 4 tapas dishes plus rice on the recommendation of our server and ended up ordering another dish as everything was so good. Brilliant quality and a cheap bill at the end. Definitely satisfied pregnancy cravings.
