Our daughter lives on the island now & stocked up plentiful for her California visiting parents. North Head Bakery will close up for the winter months. We all caught the last days & stocked up & froze bread & other baked goods. I can't wait to return to Grand Manan when the weather warms up & I can enjoy the... More

We have vacationed on Grand Manan for 20 consecutive years, and the North Head Bakery is one of our favorite spots and a true asset to the island. We stay at the Inn at Whale Cove Cottages in a cottage that rents from Sunday to Sunday, and can barely survive until Tuesday when the bakery opens (closed Sunday and Monday).... More

We vacation for 2 weeks on Grand Manan Island every summer and have been visiting the Island for many years. The only bread we eat while on the Island is called Saint John River Bread and is purchased at the North Head Bakery. We only wish we could find bread as good when we get home. It makes especially good... More

This is a great bakery - wonderful healthy bread baked right there. Try the Saint John bread. Good place to pick up a baguette for a picnic.

This is an amazing bakery but check the hours. I believe it closes on Saturday at 5 and doesn't reopen until Tuesday morning.

We heard of the bakery as our cottage owners recommended it to us. We stopped by the get some bread to go with our freshly cooked lobster, and also decided to buy some baked treats to go with our breakfast. The bread was really fresh and very tasty. The treats were also great. The bakery is small, and you can... More

A must-stop place on Grand Manan with terrific, very French style baguettes, lots of other breads, amazing danishes, cinnamon rolls, other sweet and savoury pastries and cookies. The chewy ginger cookies are amazing. They also serve coffee, tea and cold drinks, and there always seems to be at least one or two people lined up. Busy and wonderful, my favourite... More

We had heard about the North Head Bakery and went there for lunch one day. The line of people waiting to buy baked goods gave away how popular it is and the aroma on entering is exquisite. They have a large variety of breads, buns, quiches, croissants and sweet baked goods to name a few. They have a small counter... More
