Decided on Alma's based on its number 1 spot on tripadvisor. With nothing to compare it to in the area, it was OK. We wanted a meal before boarding the overnight ferry to Nova Scotia. The restaurant was not especially clean, the service was quick and friendly, the food was OK, the fish tasted good. If this is the number... More

We ate at Alma's twice during our recent trip to Port aux Basques. We had hot turkey sandwiches and hand cut fries. Really yummy and served hot (not lukewarm). Breakfast was also great and at a reasonable cost. Service was welcoming, friendly and quick. We will definitely be back when we are next in the area! Kudos to this family... More

You have to look closely to find Alma's - it is in the strip mall with Foodland - and we were glad we found it. We requested the cod pan fried rather than deep-fried and it was very good. This is family restaurant with a basic menu. Warm friendly service; my husband enjoyed his Partridge berry pie, and my brownie... More

We enjoyed our meal here. We split a Munchie Platter (wings, onion rings, fries, chicken fingers, mozza sticks), Garlic Bread with Cheese, and some more onion rings. Maybe if we'd gotten something else we would have been more impressed. Coconut Cream and Apricot pies (well priced) for dessert. Both pies were good.

We were late getting into Port aux Basques on our way to Corner Brook, and found Alma's where we all enjoyed the soup of the day and a sandwich. They were close to closing time but didn't rush us thru our meal. Service and food were wonderful. Stop by when you are in the area.
