This is a lovely place with fresh food, delicious coffee and great pastries. The greens come directly from the garden and the food is homemade. A great place to eat after a good hike or before venturing in the Bonavista Peninsula.

Who knew that we would find such a gem of a vegetarian restaurant in this area? But we did and it was wonderful. My husband is the vegetarian in the family but I can be happy anywhere. Two Whales did not disappoint. The paninis are ambrosia!...More

Stopped here after seeing an iceberg in the harbour for a cup of tea. This is a hidden gem. Fresh gardens in the back and looks like a great bistro type menu. Wish I was hungry when I was there. The decor is welcoming and...More

We almost didn't get to have our espresso, latte, and rhubarb ginger cake because they were closing soon, but fortunately we and several others slipped in before closing. A couple and child were there for healthy vegetarian soup, and the dessert menu was extensive. Three...More

Did not expect what we found when we pulled off the highway to "grab a cup of coffee." Discovered an amazing menu with tons of delicious gluten-free options (my mother has celiac disease). We had lunch and went back the next day for take-out. Great...More

After a visit to Trinity Bay, we were all hungry so this was the perfect solution! Yummy and totally satisfying for all of us! Our stomachs were filled in the end. Came here twice already. Highly recommended to go at least once!

We had a really nice lunch that consisted of soup, awesome homemade bread and really good coffee. Our server was great and we enjoyed everything. I do admit I would have liked to see one or two non-veggie options, but I survived. We stopped in...More

We are now closed for the season - reopening May 2018.

Two Whales is a small, family run, independent coffee shop and restaurant overlooking Robin Hood Bay in the small township of Port Rexton on the Bonavista Peninsula. This is our 9th season in business and our reputation grows every year. According to many of our customers we serve the best espresso coffees on the island - we feel it is a combination of great beans (from Jumping Bean in St John's), our espresso machine, skill, our well water and a bit of Two Whales magic! We serve a range of premium teas and soft drinks including our special homemade organic lemonade. Part of our philosophy is that we do not serve anything that we will not eat or drink ourselves. We serve delicious, healthy vegetarian food and yummy cakes which you can find out about in our menu. We use as much organic and/or locally sourced ingredients as we can, make and bake just about everything ourselves in our own kitchen and take great care in what we do.
