We went as a family of 7, and they quickly accommodated us. The service was excellent. Lobster dinners were ordered and they were quite large and generous portions. We went back for a second meal the next night!

So we went here for dinner around 5pm, end of August. Hubby, I and little 1.5 year old son. It said good home cooking...we thought why not. First off we went and sat on the deck as that's where the other patrons were. It felt like the deck was going to break off and fall to the beach below it... More

This restaurant has a brilliant location and good service. The food was average, generous in quantity.,If you are looking for excellent fresh food go somewhere else but this is fine for a quick and heavy seafood meal.

View was outstanding. Locals like the food, no idea why. Out of many things. Fish and chips not good. Dry fish (maybe frozen), thick batter, bacon on ceaser salad (not mentioned on menu), fries soggy. Short on waitresses.

During our stay in Cape Breton we were recommended the Main Street Restaurant and the Seagull Restaurant in Ingonish. On our first evening we wanted to try the Main Street Restaurant, but upon entering the establishment there was a long wait and it was uncomfortably warm in the restaurant during the wait period, We then decided to go to the... My husband and I wanted an unpretentious, inexpensive restaurant where local residents might go. This fit the bill. It's right on the water, affording beautiful views. We enjoyed a glass of wine and a beer at sunset. My husband had the Seafood Platter and was delighted with it. There were 10 mussels with melted butter and shrimp, scallops, clam strips,... More

Looking for a local place for a light dinner we saw the ratings for the Seagull and tried it. I cannot give it any points for décor or appearance. But I can give it a big score for the food and service. I tried the lobster club special. Very good. If I had to be critical it would be for... More

You probably haven't had better seafood. $6 CAD for a 6 oz. glass of wine. Recommend: the seafood platter, and chowder bowl. Neither of these (least of all the chowder!) is breaded, which a lot of people seem to like, but not me. Great service, friendly place, ocean view.

Travelled along Cabot Trail and stopped off at the Seagull Restaurant for dinner. The lobster sandwich was excellent. I had the liver and onions with bacon. We were not disappointed with our meals. The portions were extra generous. Extremely good value. We shared a dessert of apple pie. It was excellent - sooo delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant.

Our family have been frequent visitors of the Seagull every summer for the past 30+ years and it gets better and better with time. The food is delicious and service is impeccable. The views of Ingonish are the most beautiful you will ever see. Their staff have been employed for as long as we have been visiting the area and... More
