We stopped to have a drink and enjoyed a wonderful margarita. Actually a couple of them each. The service was great. The restaurant menu was mostly seafood driven but the salads were excellent. We loved the atmosphere and decor inside the restaurant.

Dropped in on an impromptu basis for a Sunday lunch and were pleased to find an outdoor table by the road. Check out the patio are in the rear as well, very lovely spot to have good eats and commune with nature. The menu was short (which in a way is nice) and everything on the menu seemed like a... More

Had a room in Bayfield and decided to go to The Red Pump for dinner. Great restaurant with nice gardens, atmosphere and very attentive service (thinking John). Had the beef tenderloin and my wife had the fish. Both were excellent and done perfect. It was our 25th anniversary and they surprised us with a beautiful dessert. Very nice touch. After dinner... We stayed in a very nice suite. A great bathroom with rain shower and jet tub. Unfortunately the jets did not work and the office was closed so we did not get to enjoy it. A great bed. A nice living room to lounge around in. This room could use a bigger T.V. A small kitchen with sink, fridge coffee... More

I usually am willing to give restaurants the benefit of several visits, who knows, maybe they are having a bad day in the kitchen, but after back to back horrific meals at The Red Pump, I rate it terrible. Everyone at the table had an awful meal, awful presentation, awful taste, only the service wasn't awful. It makes me sad... More

We had no reservation, as the one we had made at another restaurant was messed up, but the Red Pump in was able to accommodate us. Service was excellent and friendly, food was a delight to see and taste.

For an upscale gourmet lunch or dinner, I highly recommend The Red Pump in Bayfield. I drove from London to Bayfield 4 times during the summer just for lunch!! I was craving first of all the wonderful, warm experience when you arrive and are hosted by the very caring John Musselman, and his lovely staff. The inn has the BEST... More

I was reluctant to go back to this establishment due to its NOTORIOUSLY slow service but I decided to give it another chance. This is what I got for a $300: -A vodka and soda instead of a gin an tonic -Stale rolls -A lobster salad in which the lobster was inedible -A $42 steak that was completely unseasoned -Two... More

Bayfield is a wonderful, special community and the Red Pump Inn is an excellent place to stay. Very friendly ownership/staff, amazing room (I was in Suite 7), great food and perfect location on Main St. Highly recommended.
