Such a sweet location. North of the downtown core but still on the main drag. The women were all very helpful and friendly. Nice assortment of sandwiches and homemade soups and salads. A bit pricey in my opinion. $10 dollars for a sandwich ( a very good one mind you) and $4 for a small bowl of homemade soup. We... More

A wonderful small restaurant, limited hours, but the staff does a fantastic job. A great menu, (breakfast all day long), daily specials are fantastic, crowded at lunch, tells you they have great food. The locals love the place!

Revamped McDonald's with nice tables and stools or table and chairs. Bright clean and speedy service no kids play area so a quieter McDonald's.

Took a friend here for lunch last week. Again it was absolutely fantastic. Make sure you try the jalapeño bacon.

Had an unfortunate visit to this restaurant while travelling through. Noted animal hair on one of our sandwiches and on the plate which obviously put off eating it. Didn't even get an apology when It was pointed out to them. I also noted the the local Health Unit unfortunately does not post their inspection notices in this area.

After travelling and only eating typical restaurant food this was a welcome change. Real food and a great price. I had the homemade butternut squash soup, egg salad sandwich and chocolate milk for just over $12. The soup was the best butternut squash soup I have ever had. Please don't tell my wife. Sandwich was very tasty as well. Great... More

We went to Basil's Market & Deli for breakfast. The breakfast is $9.99. You get bacon, sausage or peameal, eggs, homefries and toast. Their coffee is delicious. It's a quaint little place. Not only is it a restaurant but also a market where you can purchase home-made dishes. They also provide catering. Definitely will go back.

The folks at Basil's are always friendly and accommodating. The food is not astounding but you get exactly what you expect, a good sandwich for a reasonable price. The prepared meals are basic home cooking and a great quick meal on a busy night. Would definitely recommend for lunch with friends.

If you are tired of the OnRoute's on the 401 get off the highway and have breakfast or lunch here. The restaurant is only about a five minute drive off the highway and very easy to find. There is ample parking beside the restaurant in a small (free) parking lot. The restaurant is operated by a group of women who really... More

If you are traveling the 401 Hwy and are tired of fast food breakfasts and lunches, pull off the hwy at Port Hope and stop at this delightful corner store market and deli that is, I was told, totally run by women. The food is all freshly sourced and the menu offers an All Day Breakfast, breakfast sandwiches, a soup... More
