Excellent food and service. We were serviced perfect in English. Our group of seven all got excellent food varying from warm salad to steak. Very kid friendly and did half portions for them.

I went solo for the prix fixe lunch. I was the only one sitting at a table, there were a couple of locals sitting at the bar. I had the chicken roulade, it was overcooked and very dense, like a hockey puck, but the taste was OK. The worst was the unwelcoming feeling I got. I do not speak good... More

5 of us dined here on Monday last. Very traditional old world decor, 3 choice "prix fixe" menu on the large chalk board that is presented to the table..lots of classics, escargot, rillettes, leg of lamb, duck a l'orange..and a delicious melt in the mouth leg of pork with a prune sauce/gravy. Soup of the day was very tasty, salad... More

Had the Table d'Hote which was reasonably priced. Enjoyed the salmon rillettes, and the fresh warm bread in the basket was wonderful. Our experience was somewhat limited as they were out of a number of menu items after the New Year's rush but what they had was good.

Duck pate/rillette; escargots; magret de canard; and excellent bread! Enjoyable meal with family. The very good food should be accompanied by nicer utensils/cutlery. Otherwise, very good!

I would really like to have rated this about 4 and a half stars. We were a large group and the auberge coped well. We were waited upon well and the food suited a variety of tastes. I thought the menu gave quite a large choice and suited all tastes and budgets.

Superb four course meal coming in at between 27 and 37 Canadian dollars, although some excellent wine pushed the bill up to around 55 dollars per head, but very good value fine dining. You need to pre-book over the weekend.

The waiter noted that we would enjoy the chef's good French cooking. Based on that, we went for the higher end dishes. The scallops were rubbery and not a generous portion. The waiter mistook one order and brought a different dish. The trout was fine but not noteworthy. Then we were told the desserts were homemade. But the creme caramel... More

We were spending a few days vacationing in Vermont and our B&B hosts suggested we bring our passports with us so we could go across the border to Canada for some French food to celebrate our wedding anniversary. They recommended A La Fontaine in Sutton, which was about 15 minutes from the border crossing from Vermont. It was a lovely... More
