On the main square, accessible through an enclosed patio on the ground floor. Nice when you get in; some artwork always on rotation. Food was good. Keep to chicken however; steaks are not recommended. Service was, well. Patzcuaro tempo.

El Primer Piso is a nice location for dinner. The dining room looks out over Patzcuaro's main square, Plaza Don Vasco Quiroga. Food is quite good, service was attentive and overall experience was very nice. Recommend.

I've lived in Pátzcuaro for over 15 years. I've eaten in this restaurant maybe four or five times. By Patzcuaro standards, it's a bit pricey but worth it. It's the "a bit pricey" part that keeps me from eating there more often. Well that, and one more thing. On more than one occasion, my wife and I have arrived at... More

We stopped by sunday early evening for dinner and wre very satsfied. We ordered the chile relleno appetizer which was spectacular! Then my husband had the enmoladas and we were surprised to enjoy the plantain filled ones the best. We also ordered the flautas and they were delightful. The waitress was super attentive and explained each dish we asked about.... More

Besides eating, “Foodies,” prefer talking about food, more than anything else. Discussions about the state of restaurants in Patzcuaro is a common subject. Recently the same question has been arising: Why is one of the best restaurants in town so under-utilized? Why is El Primer Piso not more popular? Remember the ancient TV ads for car rentals, when Avis proclaimed... More

We found some pretty good reviews for El Primer Piso and we weren't in the mood for the usual, so we decided to check it out. We weren't starving, so my wife just had the sopa tarasco and I the curry chicken. They were both fine, but nothing special. The curry was pretty bland I thought. The whole place was... More

If you would like something a cut above the other top rated restaurants in Patzcuaro try this one. Yes, it is a bit more expensive but for us it was worth it. My husband ordered the Chicken Serpentine, sweet, savory, excellent. I ordered the Chiles Nogadas, another winner. Great service, lovely presentation of the dishes, and we enjoyed the ambiance... Excellent view of the Plaza while sitting on the Patio. Food is priced high for the area, but still affordable for a tourist. The food is outstanding.

Third year in Patzcuaro and we eat here every time. The margaritas are great - strong and not too sweet. The chili relleno is the most unique dish I have had in Mexico. It is a dry chili marinated in olive oil and the stuffed with cheese, shrimp and herbs. I get it every time. Sooooo good. I have also... More

I especially LOVE sitting in the balconies and having a margarita or wine and some of the excellent food..... meal or snack. It is a great place to people watch and enjoy the fantastic Plaza Grande.
