I was wondering around the pueblo one afternoon and ran across Taco Maya. I have an addiction for real taco's and was not disappointed. had the fish taco's and they were some of the best i ever had. I think the cost was 4 or 5 bucks. Its a couple blocks up and turn right if i remember but ask... More

This place is off the beaten path in Akumal Pueblo but well worth finding. The fish, lamb and pork tacos were all amazing and our waitress was very helpful and a delight. The guacamole was also excellent. By the way when they say one of the two sauces for the chips is hot, you need to believe them! My three... More

Walked from resort, did some shopping and walked over the highway. Good tacos and cold beer served with care. Staff was friendly and welcoming. There was a large group of local coworkers meeting for a work celebration of some kind and laughing and enjoying themselves

Dropped in here after hearing about its location on our wall back to town from the Monkey sanctuary. Went in unassuming and left 100% satisfied. We live in California and eat Mexican food almost daily, and this food takes the prize. The fish tacos are the best I've ever had, along with the carnitas and guacamole. The family is super... More

Possibly the best fish tacos I've ever had. The little old lady then brought us food from her personal dinner she was making for her family - I believe it was Mayan. Lovely family, awesome food!

We ended up at Taco Maya after asking a local about the best tacos in town. The food was great, very affordable, and as others have said, the portions are big! Taco Maya isn't fancy and it is a little harder to find than other restaurants in the pueblo because it's a block or two off the main drag. But... More

We kept going back! We ate here 3 times. We had tacos, tacos dorados (rolled up and deep fried) as well as quesadillas. They were always busy and the service was quick and friendly. Food was delicious!

If you want some tasty local food, served up by friendly people you'll want to visit Taco Maya in the Akumal pueblo. We enjoyed our dinner and recommend getting off the tourist track and visiting places such as Taco Maya. The pork is delicious in a burrito.

Akumal is such an interesting Pueblo that we enjoy going there to eat. The food at Taco Maya is very reasonably priced and the serving sizes are quite generous. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. The Lamb burritos are huge and stuffed with lamb. I will be going back to Mexico in a couple weeks and this will definitely... More
