Buffet style restaurant that offers a wide variety of choice of soup, meal and juices. Some vegetarian options. Located only a few blocks from Valladolid main square and church Take some time to look at the back courtyard and the fountain – amazing! Mexican cuisine is a declared intangible heritage of Humanity by UNESCO and we love it!

We stopped at La Casona de Valladolid after touring Chichen Itza. The restaurant itself is a beautifully restored governor's mansion...be sure to check out the fountain in the back courtyard. The food is authentic cuisine of the Yucatan, served buffet style. Our favorite dish was lime soup (which includes lime juice, chicken and tortilla chips). There were also some delicious... More

We stopped at La Casona simply for a drink. But we liked the colorful courtyard with a fountain decorated with typical Mexican azulejos (tiles) and the elaborated grotto with decorated Madonna in a rear courtyard. It was a refreshing spot after the crowds of Chichen Itza. The margarita was delicious. The waiter cordial and stylish. Just pay attention when walking... More

Very nicely decorated and furnished but exists specifically to process Chichen Itza tourists. Large seating areas. Mexican food served from a large buffet, all Mexican cuisine. Smart polite staff. There is a large open courtyard with dining tables, at the back are the toilets and to one side an up-market souvenir shop. Go through the arch behind and see a... More

We made a quick (30-45 minutes) stop here for a late lunch as part of our tour of nearby Chichen Itza. The hostess and waiters were all very polite and quick to return with any drinks, etc. that we requested. The buffet lunch offers dozens of local dishes, both hot and cold, and an assortment of fresh fruit juices and... More

La Casona restaurant, opened two years ago by the tour company Experiencias Xcaret, is worth a visit just to see its magnificent interiors, in one of Valladolid's most historic civic buildings. The buffet food service offers a wide variety of Yucatan specialities. The gift shop features really high-quality handcrafted items.

Good food as part of the Chichen Itza tour. Plenty of choice, good food and prompt service. It was good to see a wide selection of drinks included as well, with beer and guava juice. I can recommend the tacos in particular.

We stopped here during our Chichen Itza tour (Xichen Deluxe with Experiencias Xcaret). Overall, the food is pretty good - with descriptions in English and Spanish. Beer was included while other alcohols were extra - but reasonably priced. Very filling and a restful stop after touring Chichen Itza.
